Matchday 5 of the Uefa Champions League concludes on Wednesday when our focus is on Galatasaray v Manchester United and Arsenal v Lens
Group A
Bayern Munich have the maximum 12 points and will finish top of this group. With 2 rounds of matches to go FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray both have 4 points and Manchester United have 3
Galatasaray 16/10 Draw 27/10 Manchester United 1.54/1
After taking 4 points from their first 2 group matches Gala battled well but went down in both legs of their double header with Bayern, 3-1 at home and 2-1 in Munich. Gala's best result came in their 3-2 win at Manchester United in Matchday 2. They started with a 2-2 draw at home to FC Copenhagen thanks to 2 late goals so all 4 of their matches have seen backers of the btts yes and over 2.5 goals combo collect.
If United lose here a last 16 spot will be beyond them and even if they win their 2 remaining games they would need FC Copenhagen to slip up somewhere along the line. A crazy game in Copenhagen saw them go down 4-3 and they started with another 4-3 defeat away to Bayern. Home games delivered the loss to Gala and a nervy 1-0 win in their first clash with the Danes.
The Verdict:
With both sides needing maximum points the scope for goals is logical enough and hence the odds are on the short side. I'm going to take a chance and go for “overs” on the corner count, more on gut feel than anything but I can see this being an end to end contest so both teams should contribute.
Bets: Total corners over 10.5 at 12/10 with BoyleSports
Group B
Arsenal top this group with 9 points, PSV and Lens have 4 and Sevilla have 2
Arsenal 7/20 Draw 44/10 Lens 15/2
A point from this match will definitely see Arsenal through to the last 16 whilst a win will secure top spot as well. They have won 3 of their first 4 group matches with a 2-1 loss away to Wednesday's opponents Lens the only blemish. Arsenal started with a 4-0 home win over PSV and beat Sevilla 2-0 here and 2-1 away from home.
Lens were unbeaten prior to a 1-0 defeat away to PSV on Matchday 4. One other away fixture produced a 1-1 draw at Sevilla, the home win over Arsenal is their
stand out result and their first clash with PSV finished all square at 1-1.
The Verdict:
Despite picking up 3 EPL points at Brentford at the weekend with the likes of Odegaard and Jesus back from injury Arsenal were a little flat but I can see them sealing top spot in this group without too many problems.
A home team multi-goals bet of 2-3 is my main interest and hopefully Saka will get one of them
Bets: Home team multi goals 2-3 at even money with BoyleSports
Any time goalscorer Saka at 1.73/1 with BoyleSports
