SLOVAKIA v SPAIN

This match takes place in Seville so it is a home game for the Spanish.

Slovakia are currently 2nd on the table on 3 points after 1 win and 1 loss and that puts them a point ahead of 3rd placed Spain who have drawn both their opening games. Slovakia lost 1-0 to Sweden in their last start, but did beat Poland 2-1 in their opener.

Spain have had plenty of possession, but failed to show the cutting edge in front of the goal in drawing 1-1 with Poland and 0-0 with Sweden.

Slovakia 14/1

Draw 11/2

Spain 2/9

Suggested Bet: Highest Scoring Half, Away Team (Spain), Second at 11/10

Spain certainly don’t look confident in front of goal and I think that Slovakia can frustrate them early. In the end though they should be too strong and if they do go ahead Slovakia would be forced to come forward leaving them exposed at the back. I am betting that we get more Spanish goals in the second-half than in the first.

SWEDEN v POLAND

This match takes place in St Petersburg and while Sweden would probably be happy with a point, the Poles need to win or will be going home.

Sweden are on 4 points after their 2 games while Poland have got just a solitary point to show for their efforts. The Swedes beat Slovakia 1-0 in their last start having held Spain to a goalless draw in their opener.

Poland also held Spain to a draw, 1-1, having fallen behind in the first half, but managing to get the equaliser in the second. They had lost 2-1 to Slovakia in their opening game with an own goal and a red card.

Sweden 37/20

Draw 23/10

Poland 16/10

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 12/10

At some point in this game Poland are going to have to throw everything in to attack and that is going to open them up in the back and I think we could see goals at both ends and I am betting on 3 or more in total.

GERMANY v HUNGARY

This game takes place in Munich so Germany have home ground advantage.

The Germans got a much needed 3 points last time out against Portugal, winning 4-2 having trailed 1-0 early only to be helped by 2 own goals. They lost their opener 1-0 to France who are a point ahead of them on the log.

Hungary were well beaten in their opener going down 3-0 to Portugal, but they stunned France in their last game, drawing 1-1 and the draw that day was trading at 9/2 with France just under 1/3 favourites. Hungary need to win this game to have any chance of progressing to the last 16.

Germany 1/5

Draw 13/2

Hungary 13/1

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 21/20

The Germans should win this game, but they are very short priced favourites and I prefer both teams to score as my betting angle for this one. Germany looked stronger going forward against Portugal, but their defence didn’t impress me and I think that Hungary will be forced to come forward and grab a goal.

PORTUGAL v FRANCE

This match takes place in Budapest and it is probably the encounter of the final round of matches across all the groups.

Portugal are 3rd on the group, 1 point behind France who are top of Group F. The Portuguese hammered Hungary 3-0 in their first match, but were disappointing in going down 4-2 to Germany last time out despite taking the lead in the first-half.

They play a French side who were heavily favoured to secure top spot in the group against Hungary, but fluffed their lines and drew 1-1. That came on the back of a workmanlike 1-0 victory over Germany in their opener.

Portugal 57/20

Draw 39/20

France 5/4

Suggested Bet: The draw at 39/20

It is difficult to say at this point exactly what will be required in terms of getting through as one of the four 3rd placed finishers, but there is a good chance a draw will work for both sides here and it looks the stand out bet.
