BettingDiaryManchester City take on Lyon at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon on Saturday in the last of the Champions League Quarter-Finals. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Manchester City booked their spot in the last 8 with a comfortable 4-2 aggregate win over Real Madrid in the last 16, winning each of the legs 2-1. They were undefeated in the Group Stages with 4 wins and 2 draws. Scanning down their recent European results both teams have found the back of the net in their last 6 matches and over 2.5 goals would have arrived in the last 3. Prior to last weeks win over Real Madrid, City ended the domestic campaign with 5 and 4 goal wins over Norwich and Watford respectively.

Lyon lost 2-1 away to Juventus last week, but that was good enough for them to progress on away goals having won the home encounter 1-0 back in February. Their Group form was something of a mixed bag and included away losses to Zenit and Benfica. There are no obvious goal scoring trends to note in Lyon European matches although 5 of the 8 games had 2 to 3 goals in them.

These sides last met in the Group Stages of the 2018/2019 Champions League with Lyon getting the better of Manchester City on the road 2-1 and drawing 2-2 at home.

Manchester City 1/4

Draw 5/1

Lyon 10/1

Suggested Bet: Half-time/Full-Time, Draw/Manchester City at 3/1

Lyon showed against Juventus that they belong in this company and while I think that Manchester City will be too strong over the 90 minutes I would not be surprised to see them go into the break at level pegging.

A quick look at the First Goal Scorer Market where Raheem Sterling is a 39/10 favourite and I do fancy him to get on the score sheet at some point and he is 21/20 in the Anytime Goal Scorer market.
