Sunday 17th May Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Venue: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala
Match Result Betting: Punjab Kings 12/10 RCB 7/10
RCB hosted the Knight Riders in Raipur on Wednesday and Virat Kohli turned on the magic with an unbeaten 105 to help his side chase down KKR’s 192/4 with 5 balls to spare and 6 wickets in tact. That was an eighth win of the tournament for RCB (alongside 4 defeats) and at the time it sent them top of the standings with aa very healthy net rate. Their only other match in Raipur saw them beat Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets when they chased down 167 for victory
Punjab Kings were at home to Mumbai on Thursday and they lost by 6 wickets, their fifth straight defeat and they now have a record of 6 wins, 5 defeats and 1 no result. The Kings posted 200/8 bating first but Mumbai, who are no longer in contention for the play offs, chased it down with a ball to spare. Punjab also lost to the Capitals at the only other game staged at this venue and all 4 innings here have delivered 200+ runs.
I’m with RCB to have the top bowler in this match.
Bets: Team with top bowler RCB at 8/10 with Lucky Fish
Sunday 17th May Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals
Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
Match Result Betting: Capitals 21/20 Royals 15/20
Delhi Capitals have won 5 and lost 7 of their matches. Last time out they won away to Punjab Kings by 3 wickets, recovering from 33/3 to chase down 211 for victory (Axar Patel 56, Dvid Miller 51). Their most recent outing at this venue saw them go down to KKR by 8 wickets after they could only manage 142/8 bating first. Delhi won their opening match at this venue but went on to lose each of the last 5.
The Royals return to action for the first time since the 9th May when they went down by 77 runs at home to the Titans, 152 all out chasing 230 for victory in Jaipur. That means the Royals have 6 wins and 5 defeats against their name and they have won just 1 of their last 4.
The Royals hosted Delhi at Jaipur in Match 43 and although RR posted a healthy 225/6 the Capitals chased it down in 19.1 overs for a 7 wicket win.
Chasing a target has generally been the way to go at this venue where the Capitals have won just 1 (and lost 5). That would have to be a concern but the Royals have not been in great form so this looks tricky to me. I’ll settle for small bet on Mitch Starc to be Player of the Match.
Bets: Player of the Match, Mitch Starc at 8/1 with Pokerbet
Monday 18th May Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
Match Result Betting: CSK 23/20 Sunrisers 7/10
CSK were in action in Lucknow on Friday and their play off hopes took a dent as they went down by 7 wickets, leaving them with a record of 6 wins and 6 defeats. CSK posted 187/5 with Kartik Sharma top scoring with 71 but LSG only needed 16.4 overs to complete the chase. CSK return home where they have won 4 and lost 2 of their earlier matches.
The Sunrisers most recent action came away to the in form Titans on Tuesday 1th May and they finished well beaten in Ahmedabad, going down by 82 runs. They found themselves chasing 169 for victory (Cummins 1/20 from 4 overs, Hinge 2/17 from 3 overs) but their batting line up folded, all out for just 86 in 14.5 overs. That leaves the Sunrisers with a record of 7 wins and 5 defeats.
When these teams met in Hyderabad in Match 27 the Sunrisers defended 194/9 for a 10 run victory.
This is a vital game and I’m looking for a top batter total of 75 runs or more from either side.
Bets: Top batter total over 74.5 at 17/20 with Lucky Fish
Tuesday 19th May Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants
Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Match Result Betting: Royals LSG
The Royals were in action at Delhi Capitals on Sunday and we will update this preview nearer to match day.
LSG dropped out of contention for a play off place last week and they come into this game on the back of two clashed with CSK. They lost the first by 5 wickets in Chennai but at the weekend they turned the tables with a 7 wicket win, just their fourth success of the season. Mitch Marsh cracked 90 runs in that latest win and they now take on a Royals side who beat them by 40 runs in a home fixture back in Match 32.
