The Betway Premiership action continues on Wednesday with four matches on the coupon and our focus is on Sundowns vs Amazulu and Richards Bay vs Kaizer Chiefs
Sundowns vs Amazulu
The early part of Sundowns season received a jolt at the weekend when they lost the first leg of their MTN8 semi final match up with Golden Arrows 1-0, a first home defeat for more than a year. They return to league action unbeaten with 2 wins and 1 draw after 3 rounds of matches and coming into the midweek program Downs were level with Pirates, Chiefs and their opponents here at the top of the log with 7 points. With games taking place on Tuesday including Pirates vs Sekhukhune the picture will have changed come match day. Sundowns Betway Premiership results this season comprise of a 3-2 with away to TS Galaxy and 2-0 home win over Marumo Gallants either side of a 1-1 draw with Chiefs at Soccer City.
Amazulu have an identical set of league results to Sundowns, starting with an away win at Stellenbosch (1-0) followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Pirates and most recently they were 2-0 winners at home to Siwelele. Amazulu have tasted defeat this season, 4-3 to Sekhukhune in an MTN8 home quarter final which was settled in extra time but as far as the Betway Premiership is concerned they are in fine shape.
The Verdict
Sundowns have won each of the last 6 league games and Amazulu failed to score in all of those matches. The KZN side are in decent form though and I’ll chance my arm that they will contribute to the scoring here regardless of who comes out on top.

Richards Bay vs Kaizer Chiefs
Richards Bay have 2 points to show from their first 3 league matches of the new season. hey started with a 2-1 home defeat to Polokwane City before playing out 1-1 draws at Chippa and in a derby with Durban City. They do boast a good record at home to Chiefs including a 1-0 win last season and a 2-0 victory in 2024/25.
Chiefs began the new Betway Premiership season with a 3-1 win at newcomers Kruger United and followed up with a 2-0 home win over Sekhukhune. They took the lead in their most recent outing against Sundowns but were pegged back for 1-1 draw. Chiefs also slipped out of the MTN8 at the first hurdle when they went down 1-0 at home to Golden Arrows.
The Verdict
Although Richards Bay have had the wood over Chiefs in this fixture in recent times the way both sides have started their respective Betway Premiership campaigns suggests to me that Chiefs could pick them off a couple of times.
Bets: Kaizer Chiefs total goals over 1.5 at 16/10 with Sportingbet
