Four Betway Premiership matches take place on Tuesday and our focus is on the game between Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune where any winner will go clear at the top of the standings

Orlando Pirates

This is the second of three meetings between these sides in the space of a week. On Saturday they met in the first leg of the MTN8 semi finals in Polokwane and Pirates came away with a 1-0 win. Deon Hotto scored the only goal of a tight game just before half time

After 3 rounds of Betway Premiership matches Pirates top the log on goal difference ahead of Chiefs, Sundowns and Amazulu who all have 7 points. They started with a 2-0 home win over Milford FC before playing out a 1-1 draw at Amazulu and more recently they were 3-0 winners against Chippa.

Sekhukhune

Sekhukhune battled to create any clear cut chances in the Wafa Wafa semi final clash at the weekend and they have left themselves plenty to do in the return at this venue this coming weekend.

First though it’s a return to league action and in the Betway Premiership Sekhukhune are just 1 point off the pace with a record of 2 wins and 1 draw and with another four matches involving teams who have made a good start taking place on Wednesday this is a chance to jump to the top of the standings. Sekhukhune were 1-0 winners against Durban City in the opening round before going down 2-0 away to Kaizer Chiefs before a 2-0 win against Polokwane City in their derby.

Recent Head to Head

Similar to last weekend’s MTN clash last season’s Betway Premiership meetings were both tight. Sekhukhune sprang a surprise early in the campaign with a 1-0 win in Orlando and the return in late January finished without a goal.

The Betting

In the early betting Pirates are 5/10 with the draw at 2.45/1 and Sekhukhune can be backed at 64/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 5/4 and 1.45/1 for both teams to score

The Verdict

Three vital league points are at stake this time around along with the chance to steal a march on rivals at the top of the standings.

I’m going to take my chances on Pirates finding the net in both halves of football.

Bets: Home team score in both halves? Yes at 17/10 with Lucky Fish
