Salzburg is the venue for Wednesday’s 2026 UEFA Super Cup Final between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa for which the Ligue 1 side start as odds on favourites with the bookmakers.
Paris Saint-Germain
PSG won the UEFA Champions League title last season, beating Arsenal in the final on spot kicks after the game finished all square at 1-1. They were also UCL Champions in 2024/25 when they came up against Villa in the quarter finals which they edged 5-4 on aggregate. The 2025 Super Cup saw PSG take on Spurs and after a 2-2 draw PSG won on spot kicks.
Luis Enrique could be without the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, and Achraf Hakimi who all went deep in the World Cup. A couple of recent friendly results saw PSG go down 3-0 to Mallorca and then play out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United
Aston Villa
Villa won the UEFA Europa League last season and also finished fourth in the EPL and they will be in the Champions League this season with Unai Emery remaining in charge.
Villa have brought in João Gomes from Wolves, Swiss midfield Johan Manzambi (currently injured) from Freiburg and Alejandro Garnacho on loan from Chelsea. Heading out they have lost Lucas Digne, ironically to PSG, Morgan Rogers joined Chalsea and Youri Tielemans is now with Man United.
Villa have spent much of pre-season in Asia where they beat a couple of local sides before going down 2-1 Bayern Munich.

PSG are currently 8/10 to win in regulation time with the draw at 26/10 and Villa can be backed at 7/2.
A game of 3 goals or more is just under 9/10 and its 8/10 for both teams to score.

The Verdict
Both sides will probably still be undercooked and by the sound of it missing some star players but I can still see plenty of scope for goals for both teams.
