Our featured Betway Premiership action on Tuesday sees Mamelodi Sundowns begin their league campaign with a visit to TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy

Galaxy played out an entertaining 2-2 draw away to Siwelele in their opening league game last weekend. They were a goal down at half time before Letsoalo converted a penalty to level things up early in the second half. Galaxy then conceded a second and Zulu scored the equalizer on 71 minutes and that’s the way it stayed.

Last season Galaxy finished down in twelfth position and they had a hand in denying Sundwns another title with a 3-2 win which opened the door for Pirates to take top spot. Galaxy also knocked Sundowns out of the Nedbank Cup and they went all the way to the final of that competition where they lost to Durban City.

Mamelodi Sundowns

The 2025 / 26 domestic season surprisingly saw Sundowns go empty handed including finishing as runners up to Pirates by a 1 point deficit in a title race which went right to the wire. However more the compensation was significant as they picked up the CAF Champions League trophy.

Sundowns were not in league action last weekend after the tragic death of Jayden Adams but their first action of the new season delivered a 3-2 home win over Polokwane Ccity in the MTN8 on Saturday. Downs conceded early but were 2-1 up by half time thanks to goals from Mokoena and van Wyk. Polokwane equalized to force extra time and Mailula popped up with the winner in the 113th minute

The Betting

At the time of writing Galaxy are 54/10 shots with the draw at 26/10 and Sundowns are short price favourites at 5/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at even money and it’s 11/10 for both teams to score

Sundowns -1 goal on the handicap can be backed at 27/20

The Verdict

Sundowns should come on for the weekend MTN8 outing where they had to dig deep. Meanwhile  Galaxy have had more than a week to prepare but will be without their regular goalkeeper Sipho Maseti who was sent off towards the end of the draw with Siwelele. With that in mind I’m going to take my chances with Sundowns to score in each half.

Bets: Sundowns to score in both halves? Yes at 1.55/1 with Lucky Fish
