Cheers Vann that Bennett loss was annoying although I think he had to come over the top of the final climb alone to win it

Great win Nizzolo yesterday

Monster summit finish today - those last 3km I couldn't walk up - Bernal clear favourite and I think it will be GC battle

Got to try and beat him though

Finish on the Zoncolan today. Good TV to see climbers struggling to turn pedals but my heart always goes out to the sprinters and lead out men who have to drag their much heavier bodies up here with the time threat hanging over them.
Have to fancy Bernal from a GC finish in the predicted poorer weather. His odds of 16/10 just do not do it for me. Watching Bouchard on that Vendrame stage I thought he looked tired so spending today's Bernal stake on

Wow what a Giro to be a bookmaker - I had never even heard of yesterdays winner

Interesting stage today - will Bora control it for Sagan? A big ask and more likely I think he gets in the break. If so he is vulnerable to late attack and would hope to have a teammate with him

I wouldn't be backing him at current prices and for me today

0.25u Arndt 100/1 and Fiorelli 100/1
0.5 unit Cavagna 25/1

Thankfully took Arndt e/w so made the 30/1. Thanks Brent.
Unless someone tries to jump Ineos I see the break staying today. Books have rather short odds on my picks but I just can't spot the 250/1 rider with a chance today.

Stage has been shortened by 60km with 2 of the 4 climbs removed but the final descent stays - this virtually kills my match bet. Adding another dart that can make the shortened stage

Arsed my match bet yesterday when Vlasov's rain jacket got tangled in his wheels and he could not get back. Need somewhere to go with my rest day stake. Not many options but settled on the following
Vlasov sits 38 sec behind Carthy in 4th. In second is Caruso who is riding out of his skin so he may fade. Of the stages left its only the final climb on Stage 19 that may favor Carthy over Vlasov but Vlasov could pull 15-20sec on Stage 18 with that short climb before the end. By my calculations (consists of sucking left thumb) Vlasov has Carthy by 70-80 sec in the Stage 21 ITT.
Rest day stake heading to
Top 3 Finish
Vlasov @ 9/4

I am also hopeful for Vlasov and my main bet today is 4 units Vlasov/Carthy at 27/20 WSB

Then 1 unit Pedrero 14/1 and

0.5u on

Lafay 66/1
Vervaeke 60/1
FRankiny 250/1

This has been a tough Giro and and while my stakes are small if I had not been winning at rugby I would be under pressure.

Not sure we get a quality break today as there is a lot of downhill over the first 50km which is going to make it difficult for the light climbers to get in. Still not stopping me from a few darts

No idea how Vlasov/Carthy arrived after Vlasov dropped so early

What a stage - Bernal came pretty close to cracking, what a pity we don't have a big mountain stage on Thursday

The chase by Bike Exchange took out my break picks. Had hopes for that Carboni podium and I think the board picks of Knox and Pedrero had a decent shot. Once again amazed by how different riders are after a rest day - I should really learn to play reduced stakes on those days.
Hoping for the break to stay today

Would have to say the Bernal body language today was bad and the Ineos team ditched the team comp to give him as easy a day as possible. I have nowhere to lay a bet but if I did I would take a full strike on Bernal not to win. The only option we have is to pick Yates or Caruso to win - the problem here being Caruso is 62sec ahead and probably has Yates by around 35-45sec in the ITT so a tough call. I am going to drink on it for a while.

Leaking money at an alarming rate on the stages but was OK with it as the Cimola and Ineos large out rights were looking good. The Ineos punt now in ICU so real pressure on the last three stages.

Ok boys 1 big bet today which I think is cracking value

Vlasov top 3 at 10/1 3 units on

He was 5th yesterday just 4 seconds off the top 3 and while his form has been in and out he is a proven climber and if the GC guys contest the stage as I suspect they will he must have a shot although believe he would battle to win

That being said 0.5u on each of the following from the break

Hirt 50/1
Pedrero 22/1
Vervaeke 80/1
Taaramae 150/1

Going to look at match bets now

Can't have Ganna at those odds and don't see a podium dark horse at anything over 5/1. Settled on two match bets

The end of a very enjoyable, if not profitable Giro

Ganna should win this but agree he is too short to back and 2 bets for me today

3 units Foss/Almeida at 12/10 (thanks Vann) and

5 units Cavagna top 3 at 8/10

Same thoughts from me. Last stage of a GT so what the heck. Full bet on that Cavagna podium. Have not seen him in the last few days so either ill or resting for today. Ganna definitely worked harder.
