The Newsletter Best Bet Lions +3.5 came home (link to sign up for our weekly mail below) in a tense match but that was one of the few highlights for me on a weekend where I only had 2 other bets, namely Australia -8.5 taken early last week and an unders double in the Bulls and Lions game which just missed.

The reason I couldn't watch much was my poker schools year end tournament and I took that down so overall a cracking weekend :beer

Here are my Currie Cup handicap projections ahead of this weekend

WP -21.5 v Pumas
Cheetahs +3.5 v Lions
Sharks +4.5 v Bulls

Not confident picks and interested to know where you think I have gone wrong?

International rugby is done for a while but the Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup start this weekend so there is plenty of quality live rugby

Look forward to and appreciate your contributions in this thread

Not a lot of movement from the early lines - looking at Sunbet Cheetahs now +2.5, WP -23.5 and Sharks +2.5 - Betx pretty stable

This looks like it is going to be a weekend of points lines for me

Does anyone know how to go about finding a list of which of the international players have gone back to which of the Champions and Challenge Cup teams before team announcements ?
Even just how many players have returned to which club would be good.
There's very little news out there that I can find, and the returning internationals make a massive change to a team's form..
Even Rugby Pass (RPI) seem to be stuck in a time warp - listing last years teams and players still.
Anyone know anything ?

HI Kirky

All of them are now back but reckon Argentinians won't be playing this week end as might have arrived late in Europe and/or quarantine in the UK.
I did a list of all top 14 teams impacted by international rugby several weeks ago (should be easy to find in a rugby topic)
For the other countries, suggest you take the original list of selected players and you will get your list quite easily

Logged on to post this too.

I've had a modest play - tempered by the fact both Bath Flyhalves (Preistland & Matavesi) both had head knocks last weekend so could be out.
If so Redpath likely to start at 10.

Thanks Bradie,
Yes, I was looking at the list you provided a few weeks ago, which was all Pro 14 teams. I noted them carefully at the time so still have that reference - thanks again for that :)
I was more specifically looking for the French Top 14 and UK Premiership players. But this will become apparent soon I hope, but will bear in mind the Argentinian quarantine as you suggest.
Thanks again :beer

Good XV, good bench with England internationals (Ford, Youngs, Genge)
Brive with bad team in England. Rape, GL. Expect hc on matchday around 20+

Great show last night ,, might have to replay a few parts as there was plenty of info to digest .

Tonight I will tentatively go for the unders in the WP match, bearing in mind did my nuts in Durban last time the Pumas were on their travels at 56.5

My other play this evening will be Ulster on the best plus , I've seen some plus 5.5 , Toulouse superb but hoping , the last bet will be Northampton, they've been awful but as the panel mentioned I'm hoping they could turn the tide soon and hoping I'm on the wave that does it .

Enjoyed the show last night fellas.
I watch late at night and I note my wife listening in now.
I think she enjoys the accents!
We honeymooned in Capetown, Franschhoek and Hermanus Bay and the memories are fond.

Connacht are not starting with Bundee Aki and no sign of Quinn Roux in the match squad.
So going with Racing -15.5pts in a single

Also an AH accumulator with:
Racing -9.5
Toulon -3.5
Dragons +12.5
Northampton +7.5
Leicester -16.5
Cardiff ML
7.4/1 Bet 365

Final play will be Lions on the board
I can't have the Cheetahs without Ruan Pienaar

Good Luck all

Whitehouse and his TMO seemed to have something against Bordeaux in the 2nd half.
Saints their own worse enemy, butchering countless attacks. They're so low on confidence - forgotten how to win.

Bristol v Clermont should be a cracker today.
Points line at 47.5 - going overs for sure, with good weather predicted.
Tryscorers:
Penaud, Raka and Pato for Clermont - wouldn’t be surprised if any of them scored a double.
Malins, Earl or Piers O Conner for Bristol

Scratch that - Andrew Brace is reffing Bristol v Clermont today. Save your money.

Genuinely a mind bending, shape shifting, unpredictable referee. With phantom knock ons, missed knock ons, bizarre penalties - anything can happen.
DO NOT BET ON HIS GAMES.

I’ve decided to ignore my own advice, and am going with a double on points line, and either team to win by 7 or less.

Bristol v Clermont Over 47.5
Cheetahs v lions over 51.5
Double at 2.86-1

And then a double of “either team to win by 7 points or less”
Double at 4.83 - 1
