I came back down to earth with a bang this past weekend, It was one of those where I never liked anything strong but felt almost obliged to get involved after a good couple of weeks. The result was I leaked badly and gave plenty back o the books. I am seriously hectic a work as well and so could not get the newsletter out but that is likely a good thing given how the weekend went.

Below my handicap projections for the weekend ahead

Super Rugby TT

Hurricanes -7.5 v Reds -Hurricanes have to win to stay alive but deep down they know they are gone
Brumbies +7.5 v Highlanders - Highlanders (2nd) are ahead of Crusaders (3rd) on points difference, they have to push for a bonus point and points difference
Rebels +32.5 v Crusaders - a tough game to cap, Crusaders will know what they have to do and I expect they will get the job done
Blues -28.5 v Force - Blues need to win with a bonus point to guarantee their spot at the top of the log
Waratahs +19.5 v Chiefs - 2 teams with nothing to play for, points should flow

Rainbow Cup SA

Stormers -8.5 v Lions
Sharks +4.5 v Bulls - I think Sharks need to win with a bonus point without the Bulls getting a point

There is also Rainbow Cup Pro 14 and Gallagher Premiership action

I may have missed the opening lines (like the minus 6 Highlanders South) but early lines at Sunbet to the right in brackets v my projections

Super Rugby TT

Hurricanes -7.5 v Reds (-12.5)
Brumbies +7.5 v Highlanders (+8.5)
Rebels +32.5 v Crusaders (+25.5)
Blues -28.5 v Force (-25.5)
Waratahs +19.5 v Chiefs (+21.5)

Early thoughts
5 points difference Canes v Reds, if the Reds are at full strength I will be on the plus
7 points difference Rebels game - I like the Crusaders -25.5 and think this line will edge closer to 30

Brumbies v Highlanders Betting Preview

Finally settled on Highlanders minus

Rebels v Crusaders Betting Preview

I think this line moves before kick off and if the Highlanders do the business in Canberra it could stretch to the 30's

Possibly the most shocking performance from a referee I have seen in my life. Not sure James Doleman got a single decision right in this one, and the errors were comically bad. Not even close to properly applying the laws. Will be lucky to get assigned a Mitre 10 match after tonight.

Agree, not just bonus point required but given that Highlanders have a points difference of 103 and Crusaders currently 71 they will have a lot of points to cover.
From a betting point of view, they will have to cover the current -27.5 handicap otherwise they are out of the final given that Blues just need to win their respective game.

I was thinking the same Coil, but I would rather have a safety net of 3 additional points in the favor of Racing (at better odds as well) by playing Racing to win by 1 - 12 as opposed to Stade on the +9.5 handicap. I really do not think that Stade will be able to beat Racing, so the handicap is not really a value play to me.

Leinster vs Dragons

Leinster lost the chance of getting to the finals when they lost away in Glasgow 15-12 last week.
These teams have nothing to play for now, however Leinster will welcome 1200 fans in the stands, which will provide plenty of motivation to end the season on a high.

Bet 1: Team Total Leinster Over 43.5 points @1.91
Bet 2: Leinster -26.5 @1.91

The Rebels are no strangers to big beatings, including by the Crusaders in their last two encounters, 55-10 and 66-0.
So even a -39.5 handicap is not out of the question, while the Rebels are without Toomua.

I took the following:

Crusaders over 54.5 points @1.83, bet365
Crusaders over 8.5 tries @2.24

As mentioned on the show I think this Crusaders team win by as many as they want/need to

I think they will try and put pressure on the Blues to get the bonus point win and reckon they will need to win by 40+ to do so

Got -26.5 and also some -30.5 at 11/10 and considering Saders overs
