The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 12th to 14th December including a 12/1 acca with Pokerbet

Bordeaux did the business for us last week and the over 29.5 points came home smoking a cigar. It was a great game for punters with every man and his dog on the match overs as well.

The Sharks nearly delivered the perfect result for bookies though, having been backed from -26 to -48. With 20 minutes to go they trailed by 16 points and were on the attack, but eventually lost by 37, which got the early Toulouse minus punters the goods.

Overall, for me, my leak continues and the weekend hinged on the final match. I fancied Edinburgh on the board but then saw the Cheetahs were playing and went Exeter over 6.5 tries instead. There were 5 in the first half and a lousy 1 in the second, and that made for a grumpy Monday morning especially as I left the Edinburgh game alone.

Looking at this weekend, I’ve been tracking betting movements without getting involved, and I think the points line will see most of my action, with all bets posted in the Round 2 Investec Champions Cup blog.

The Handicap – Rugby Chat That Matters

It was great to welcome one of our favourite sons and original guests, Couch Critic, onto last night’s show and I even let him and Oracle talk some cricket at the end. We had a good chat and some laughs of course.

Weekend Plays

I have a busy day ahead so I’m getting the newsletter out early, although my biggest bet will likely be a points or tries play.

Bath to deliver in Toulon

My main fancy this weekend is Bath to get a win in Toulon. The French side were well beaten by Edinburgh last week and, while not terminal, I wonder if they may already be writing this competition off mentally. Bath are a proper team and hammered Munster at home last week. I think they come away with the points as slight underdogs.

The teams will be out later, so there could be movement either way (and I could look pretty foolish), but I’m happy to put Bath up as the newsletter play.

Bet: 4 units Bath win at 1.29/1 at Pokerbet

The Rugby Acca at 12/1

Before I list the acca, a quick note: I fancy the minus on Northampton -13.5 but my preference will be for points and tries, so I’ll wait for those lines and post in the blog.

Acca Legs:

  • Leicester under 20.5 points at 9/10

  • Clermont -16.5 v Sale at 9/10

  • Harlequins -21.5 v Bayonne (also watching for points lines)

  • Bristol Bears -20.5 v Section Paloise

Bet: 1 unit at 12/1 at Pokerbet
