The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 25th to 26th October
This newsletter was meant to go out Friday evening, but a late meeting (not the pub kind, I promise!) pushed things back and this was followed by my son’s girlfriend’s birthday, where I may or may not have tried to keep pace with the youngsters. Let’s just say the over 2.5 funnel backers cashed in.
RECAP
I really enjoyed my time away last week and didn’t watch much rugby and it was just great to spend time with family I see all too seldom.
The two accas posted in last week’s newsletter had very different fortunes. The Friday night treble arrived nicely at 5.7/1 (sorry about the Cardiff typo — it was the Dragons who were the +7.5), but Saturday was another story. Only 1 of 3 legs arrived with Sharks and Leinster missing their handicaps by miles. This URC competition continues to deliver wild and unpredictable results!

The URC Betting Blog is up and running and all of my weekend plays will be posted there. Don’t forget to stay tuned to the GFTG Rugby Forum Thread, where other punters share bets and information.
Glasgow -8.5 scraped in last night to get the weekend off to a decent start.
THE HANDICAP – Baby News and Betting Chat
First up a big congratulations to Nathan "The Mossman" and his wife on the birth of their baby daughter last Sunday. Mom and baby are doing well!
I was joined by @thecrowetips on The Handicap this week and we worked through the weekend fixtures, backed by some great input from the live chat crew. Below are some quick jumps to the match discussions:
WEEKEND PLAYS
I am not getting heavily involved this weekend as far as big bets go and will largely be loading up on doubles and trebles. I fancy overs in Joburg though and that will be my main play for the day.
BET: 4 units Over 7.5 tries at 11/10
Game: Lions v Ulster
Bookmaker: Hollywoodbets
Conditions should be close to perfect in Joburg, and while Lions home games can sometimes be overs traps, this try line is low enough to get me involved. One thing is certain is I’ll need the Lions to be more positive than they were last week when they bizarrely took 3 points in the final minute against the Scarlets while already 8 up.
I originally posted over 52.5 points in the blog (still available at Pokerbet) when there were no try lines available, but I now prefer the tries market and am hoping for corner kicks rather than penalty goals.
BET: 2-unit unders double at 2.5/1
Game 1: Under 14.5 Zebre points v Leinster @ 0.82/1
Game 2: Under 48.5 points – Dragons v Ospreys @ 0.93/1
Double Pays: 2.5/1 at BetXchange
There’s rain possible in both matches, and I reckon an understrength Leinster can keep Zebre in check. Over in Newport, I am hoping things get messy at the Rodney Parade . Lets hope the weather plays along!
