The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 25th to 27th September including Australia vs South Africa and the United Rugby Championship

I’m back after a week off from serious punting, although I did visit Turffontein Racecourse for a charity event and had a very enjoyable time at the horses last Saturday, even coming out a few Rand ahead.

Rugby returns in full force this weekend, with Australia hosting South Africa in Perth on Sunday and the new United Rugby Championship season getting underway.

We are running a Superbru league, just for fun at this stage, so click here if you would like to join

The URC action starts tonight, when three matches kick off at exactly the same time. You really have to wonder who makes these decisions.

Click here for the Australia v South Africa betting preview - I’ve already posted a couple of bets, including a half-time/full-time play at 5/1 and an Australian last try-scorer selection at 14/1, but my main play will be added closer to kick off.

All my URC bets will be posted in the Week 1 URC betting blog.

THE HANDICAP
It was said on last night’s show that the Admiral looks younger with every appearance, and it was great to have the young pup back to discuss the United Rugby Championship with Oracle and me.

Below are shortcuts to some of the key discussions:

WEEKEND PLAYS
Rugby is my main focus this weekend, but I’ll also be following the Presidents Cup closely. It doesn’t generate anything like the hype of the Ryder Cup, but I watched quite a bit of day one and hopefully there is some money to be made.
We also have the World Cycling Championships on Sunday. Tadej Pogačar is out following his accident in the Vuelta, which opens things up. Remco Evenepoel is the 9/4 favourite and will be very difficult to beat, as will any of the first four riders in the market.

Presidents Cup foursomes accumulator
Let’s start with tonight’s golf, where the USA take a 3–2 lead into day two of the Presidents Cup.
The USA have an excellent record in the foursomes format and, having looked through the matches, I expect them to collect at least three points. I’m combining three USA victories with one win for the Internationals in an accumulator paying 9.49/1.
The tie is in play in each match, so all four selections need to win.
Scheffler/Burns at 0.58/1
Morikawa/Clark at 8/10
Thomas/Young at 8/10
Kim/Kim at 21/20

0.5 units (1–5): Presidents Cup foursomes accumulator at 9.49/1 with Betxchange

A Friday night URC treble
I don’t fancy anything particularly strongly in the URC this weekend and I am waiting for points lines for Saturdays games. For tonight I’m going with a treble on the three games kicking off at 20h45.
Dragons +9.5 at 0.87/1
Edinburgh +11.5 at 0.87/1
Connacht v Stormers under 49.5 points at 10/11
1 unit (1–5): Friday night URC treble at 5.68/1 with World Sports Betting

Upset of the weekend?
I am going to follow Oracle with a small play on Zebre to beat the Bulls.
The Bulls are missing several players, while Zebre are always a different proposition at home. The Bulls are 10.5-point favourites, but my bet is that they have a difficult afternoon in Italy and Zebre pull off the first major upset of the season.
1 unit (1–5): Zebre to win at 4.25/1 with World Sports Betting

Pidcock to bring it home!
I’m really looking forward to settling down for some late afternoon-Sunday cycling from Canada.
This is a demanding course and I’m going with Tom Pidcock, who appears to be flying slightly under the radar at 11/1. He may not be as closely watched as some of the other favourites and is  capable of winning from small group or with a late attack.
Bring it home Tom!
Bet: Tom Pidcock to win at 11/1
I’ll add any further bets to the World Championships betting thread.
