Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday 31st December where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
LEVITATOR has consistent form lines to her name. She was running on when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of William Longsword meets the right field and from pole position, she can go one better.
QUINCY TOWN finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe.
KALI BWANA may not have seen out the 1600m last time. She has finished second twice over this distance previously. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo retains the ride and she cannot be discounted.
Race 2
This is a weak Open Maiden field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is BALTIC ASSAYER from the Nathan Kotzen stable. She finished 1.7 lengths behind TIPPERARY last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
TIPPERARY ran a decent race when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. If taking to the polytrack surface, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest. She is carded to race on 28 December 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
RUN FOR PEACE‘S last two starts have been fair. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. In this field, it would be no surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 3
DESERT DOG showed massive improvement when second over 1600m on this course last time. He tried hard all the way to the line, but found one too good in the form of Sword Speed. The son of Fire Away steps up to 2000m and with luck from the widest draw, he can go one better.
TEE DOG may have cost himself winning last time as he hung outwards in the final 350m. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back, and he should be competitive.
TASTE THE RAINBOW finished 2.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He has cracked a good draw of two which will assist his cause.
Race 4
ARCTIC FURY showed improvement when third in her last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Danon Platina drops back in class and Keagan de Melo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
BANZAI PIPELINE stayed on after a slow start over 2000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should be the first male past the post.
BLAZING LIGHT is better than his last start over 2000m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. If finding the form of his penultimate run when victorious over this C&D, he may be hard to peg back.
Race 5
WORLD OF OUR OWN rallied late to finish second after racing wide around the turn over 1600m on this course last time. He has cracked pole position and with Keagan de Melo retaining the ride, he can return to winning ways.
RECORD HIGH finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
THE WOLF lacked extra late when third over 2000m on this course last time. It must be noted that Eventidor has come out and won again since. He won his only attempt over this C&D and cannot be discounted.
Race 6
ZENA ROSE finished 0.9 lengths behind HEARTS ON FIRE last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Horizon has dropped in the ratings and with luck from the widest draw, she may be the one to beat.
FLYING REIGN STORM is better than her last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. On her previous form, she is one of the leading contenders.
HEARTS ON FIRE is better than her last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Her penultimate run when third over this C&D was encouraging. She drops back in class and would not be a shock winner.
Race 7
KANAAL SKATER is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of One World should have no issues with the drop to 1400m and can bring up the hat-trick.
PARMENION ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From pole position, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
EL REY VIENE raced with his tongue over the bit last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from seven starts on this course. He jumps from a good draw of four and merits healthy respect.
Race 8
PROFESSOR LUPIN has good recent form lines to his name. He raced from a handy position over this distance on the turf last time and stayed on to finish fourth. He won his penultimate outing over this C&D. He does have an awkward draw of eight to contend with, but gets the services of Keagan de Melo who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
COUNT MARSH ran a decent race when third over 1400m last time. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
LOU LOU THE LEGEND finished 1.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around
