MARGATE produced an encouraging debut effort over 1000m on this course. The daughter of What A Winter lost two lengths leaving the start but stayed on to finish fifth. She would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the extra 200m on offer. Unless one of the first timers have class about them, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
MARY CASSATT is an unraced daughter of One World from the Vaughan Marshall stable with Sean Veale in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners and if not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.
ROMAN ROMANCE is a daughter of Hawwaam from the Glen Kotzen yard with Chad Little up. She is related to two-time winner Love Tap. If not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself.

VIBE CHECK showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. He raced on the speed, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Lady Jean. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Querari is a progressive type and can go one better.
TAG AND RELEASE lost a length leaving the start on debut, but stayed on to finish second. The son of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a massive threat.
SOUNDSOFSYMPHONIES ran a fair race on debut in the Non- Black Type Futurity Plate. He returns from an 18-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 4
RICH MAN’S WORLD is the top bet on the programme. He was an easy winner on debut over this C&D. The son of One World showed good speed, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is the only winner in this contest and can remain unbeaten.
MY BONNY BOY finished 8.2 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The son of What A Winter did have excuses in running that day. JP van der Merwe retains the ride and he should make the natural improvement.
BLACKBIRD is an unraced son of New Predator from the Candice Bass stable with Keagan de Melo in the irons. He is related to two-time winner Disting. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.

REDLIGHT LANE has not finished too far off the winner in her last three starts. She drops to 1200m and the blinkers should sharpen her up. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
BLUE LAGOON stayed on when second over 1400m on the Winter course last time. She returns from an 18-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She is a filly with scope and if not in need of the run, she should pose a threat.
NTIBINDI showed improvement when fourth over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She returns from a lengthy 30-week break. The daughter of Act Of War has scope and if fit, she should give a good account of herself
Race 6
BOURBON KING showed good improvement when second over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish second. The son of Vercingetorix should love the rise to 1800m. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and he can go one better.
SPANISH VERSE stayed on when second over this C&D last time. If keeping on a straight line, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
GOLD GOLD BABY is a filly taking on the males. She ran an improved race when second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and cannot be discounted.

FLYING FINLEY produced a good comeback run when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from nine starts over this C&D. He drops back in class and should strip much fitter. The son of Oratorio can return to winning ways.

UNA THE UNICORN finished 1.3 lengths behind MY ONLY WEAKNESS last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The daughter of Act Of War is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. It is encouraging that Grant van Niekerk retains the ride and if jumping on terms, she can return to winning ways.
JOU LEKKER DING stayed on when fifth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
