Race 1
VIKING LASS produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the Classic course. She raced from just off the pace, moved up and tried hard all the way to the line. The daughter of Erik The Red would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better.
ELUSIVE DRAGON made the expected natural improvement when second over 1000m at Turffontein last time. She showed good speed before getting outrun late by Love Not War. The daughter of Elusive Fort steps up to 1200m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
ALITTLEBITOFLOVE is an unraced daughter of Master Of My Fate from the Sean Tarry stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.
Race 2
SHERLOCK HOLMES showed good improvement when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He raced on the speed but found one too good in the form of Prayersandpromises. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of What A Winter is a progressive type and can go one better.
KUDIKARAN produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of The United States would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression.
NORTHUMBERLAND is an unraced son of Visionaire from the Sean Tarry stable with Keagan de Melo up. He is related to three-time winner Master Of Power. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
Race 3
COMIC ARTIST should have finished closer to the winner last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate relished the step up to 2000m. 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson retains the ride and with luck in running, she can win.
HEROIC ACT stayed on when second over this distance on the Classic course last time. Calvin Ngcobo retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
THOONSIL finished 1.9 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The son of Danon Platina is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe.
Race 4
FUTURE GAMBLE has finished second in her last two starts over 1600m. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The daughter of Futura will love the rise to 2000m and in this field, she should take a power of beating.
VIXENINTHEVINEYARD has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of What A Winter may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
LANTERI finished 3 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. She is carded to race on 26 March 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 5
POMPEII SHIELD stayed on at the finish over 1600m at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Gimmethespotlight. The son of William Longsword is coming along the right way and should enjoy the rise to 1700m. In this line-up, he may be the one to side with.
ROYALE JACKET is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out and fatigued. He finished third in his penultimate outing over this distance. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should pose a threat.
GIMMESUMLUV is lightly raced with fair form lines to her name. She is bred to love the rise to 1700m. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 6
SIX OF ALL showed good signs of a form return when third over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and if confirming his recent improvement, he may be the one to beat.
ITSNOWORNEVER finished 1.85 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
FURIOUS has fair consistent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fifth over 1800m at Turffontein last time. He is carded to race on 26 March 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 7
WARNING LIGHT caught the eye when third over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He was out of his ground turning for home and was doing his best work late. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1600m. He looks to have ability and has a good winning chance with Gavin Lerena back in the saddle.
GOT THE FEELING was running on after a slow start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He drops back in class and Keagan de Melo may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.
RINGA RINGA ROSES finished 2.2 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 8
PALACE PRINCE found one too good in the form of Speedman last time. He finished 0.7 lengths behind CARE FORGOT, three runs ago. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts on this course. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he should be competitive.
CARE FORGOT won a good race in the Listed Wilgerbosdrift Acacia Stakes last time. She received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of The United States is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
OPEN HIGHWAY was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m on the Classic course. If repeating that effort in this field, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 9
This is a competitive Merit Rated 74 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ROMILLY from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. He was slow into stride over 1160m at Turffontein last time, but stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will strip much fitter and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.
READY SET FIRE is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and on best form shown, he should pose a threat.
PALACE REVOLT’S last two starts have been fair. He finished 0.6 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish
