Race 1

Majority of the runners in this contest are first timers and the betting market will be the best guide. WINTER PIRATE produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but finished off his race nicely. The son of What A Winter would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat. 

RICH MAN‘S WORLD is an unraced son of One World from the Vaughan Marshall stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He is related to four-time winner Just Reckless. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. 

LENOXX hails from the Dean Kannemeyer stable and he is a son of Querari. He is related to 13-time winner Cruise Control. Craig Zackey rides and if not too green in running, he should give a good account of himself.

Race 2

TROIS SEPT HUIT showed good improvement when third over this C&D last time. He lost a length leaving the start but finished off his race well. That was his first outing as a gelding. Apprentice Eduan Muller takes the 4kgs off his back and if confirming his recent improvement, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

RHYTHM KING ran a good race when second over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He drops to 1000m and the blinkers are fitted. He will strip fitter and is one of the leading contenders. 

RED WAVE was a tad disappointing over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. On previous form, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

ELEGANT NOBLE ran a fair race over 2000m on this course last time. The son of Time Thief is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He steps up to 2500m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up his third-career victory. 

TWICE THE MASTER stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. The 7yo gelding runs well for 4kgs claiming Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane and he should pose a threat. 

HELIOTROPE has decent recent form lines to her credit. She would have come on from her last outing and should strip much fitter. She should have no issues with the rise to 2500m and would not be a surprise winner.

Race 4

GQEBERHA was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. Her debut effort when second over this C&D catches the eye. The daughter of Twice Over has plenty of scope and if finding the form of her debut run, she can shed her maiden tag in this field. 

KISSES was outrun late over 1600m last time. She returns from an 11-week break and drops back to 1200m. Andrew Fortune retains the ride and if fit, she should pose a massive threat. 

MISS ATTITUDE ran a fair race over this C&D last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She is back against her own sex and can earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 5

PACIFIC WATERS was outrun late when third over this C&D last time. She returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most. 

BEAUTIFUL ONE was running on when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that Amayah has come out and won again since. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on her and from her good draw of three, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest. 

RED TAFFETY ran a fair race over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The daughter of Erik The Red steps up to the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can finish in the placings. 

Race 6

UNITED FRONT is the top bet on the programme. He was doing his best work late when second over this C&D last time. The blinkers and tongue-tie seem to have done the trick. The son of One World has ability and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways. 

OCEAN SKY finished 1.65 lengths behind SOMMERSTERN last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

SOMMERSTERN followed up his maiden win with an impressive victory over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1600m. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick. 

Race 7

CELTIC CHIEF ran a fair race in his last start over 1000m on this course. He stayed on at the finish that day. The son of Vercingetorix takes a drop in class and gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Eduan Muller which will assist his cause. He will strip a much fitter horse and if all goes according to plan, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

HIAWATHA GOLDBERG stayed on when fifth over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should pose a threat. 

LOVERS LANE won a game race over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 8

ACT OF GRACE moved up well over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time before getting touched off by Lovers Lane. She has won once and finished second four times from six starts over this trip. Despite her big mass of 62kgs, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

GIVEN TO FLY finished 1.4 lengths behind SPLASH OF COLOUR last time. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 

SPLASH OF COLOUR showed good improvement when second in her last start over 1500m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. If confirming that effort, she should go close to winning.
