Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Thursday 18th December where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
This is a weak work riders Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SAVARA‘S PRINCESS from the Brett Webber stable. She is better than her last three starts. The daughter of Erik The Red finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. She gets the services of capable work rider Tom Lukhele and would not be a shock winner.
FLYING WORLD may not have seen out the 1700m last time. Her effort when second over 1450m on this course, three runs ago catches the eye. If finding the form of that outing, she should pose a threat.
COMIC ARTIST ran a fair race over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has scope and can finish in the placings.
Race 2
ARTIC SILVER finished 1.1 lengths behind BOOM BOOM last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. She finished 1.5 lengths behind NKWENKWEZI in her penultimate outing and should turn the tables. She has won on this course previously and may be the one to beat.
NKWENKWEZI is a winner of her last three starts, the latest of which was over this distance. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She takes another step up in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and merits healthy respect.
WOMAN‘S WORLD finished 0.7 lengths behind BOOM BOOM last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 3
MASTER‘S LADY ran a good race when second over this distance last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung in the final 300m. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
VARACHINO‘S CHAMP ran a fair race over this distance last time. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto which will assist her cause. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GASLIGHT DANCER is better than her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride, and she can improve.
Race 4
INSPECTOR JAMES has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has finished second three times and third once from six starts over this distance. If getting away to a clean start, he can shed his maiden tag in this field.
MONKEY‘S WEDDING showed good improvement when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The son of Hawwaam is a progressive type and may have more to come.
SABRAGE is an unraced son of Canford Cliffs from the Clinton Binda stable with Calvin Habib in the saddle. He is related to two-time winner Old Fashioned. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 5
EUPHRATES stayed on at the finish when fourth over 2000m last time. The son of Wings Of Desire finished third over this C&D, three runs ago. The blinkers have been re-fitted for this outing. He gets the services of Gavin Lerena who may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.
ASIAH‘S TIARA has consistent form lines to her credit. The daughter of Rabada tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a threat.
EMERALD CITY ran a decent race when second over this C&D last time. He stayed on at the finish that day, but found one too good in the form of Itsnowornever. If confirming his recent improvement, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
DUCHESS OF PALOMA followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1800m on this course. The manner in which she quickened up and drew clear of the opposition last time was eye- catching. The daughter of Royal Mo steps up to 2000m and she gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Savanna Valjalo. She is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
SCARLETT HEART finished 1.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
ANNEWITHAN E finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and she may battle to turn the form around.
Race 7
FULLY LOADED has good consistent form lines to his name. He has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. Apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. The 6yo gelding may be rewarded for consistency.
XENOPHON stayed on at the finish over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Constellation. The son of Vercingetorix won his maiden over this C&D. He is an honest individual and merits healthy respect.
TOP DIVISION finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. He is carded to race on 16 December 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 8
OLYMPIAN GOLD stayed on at the finish when fourth over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The son of Potala Palace gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Savanna Valjalo which will assist his cause. He jumps from pole position and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
DRUMNADROCHIT took her place in the Grade 3 Ducat Africa Fillies Mile last time. She gets the blinkers fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She is a filly with scope and should give the males a run for their money.
PALACE ATTACK showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1600m at Turffontein last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Potala Palace would not be a shock winner.
Race 9
ACTUARY showed some improvement when third over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The son of Futura will love the rise to 1500m. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he may be the one to beat.
RED SUNRISE was outrun late when third over 1400m last time. The son of Erik The Red may be ideally suited to this distance. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he is one of the leading contenders.
STOKESY was a tad disappointing over 1800m on this course last time. His penultimate run when third over 1700m was encouraging. The son of Fire Away has scope and must be considered
