Race 1
MME HUNTRESS drifted in the betting market when third over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She finished fourth on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix meets the right field and she can shed her maiden tag.
ONE SUMMER returns from an 18-week break and is having her first run for Tony Peter. She is the stable elect with Phelisile Mongqawa in the saddle. The daughter of One World may have good improvement to come.
UNDERDOG stayed on when third over this C&D last time. The son of Gold Standard gets the services of capable work rider Chamu Mabaya and may be the first male past the post.
Race 2
RENDEVOUS IN RIO ran a good race when second over this distance on the Classic course last time. She took the lead at the 300m mark before getting outrun late by A Good Heart. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia which will assist her cause. The daughter of Trippi may be the one to side with.
VAMANOS ran a good race when second over 1450m on the Classic course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.
DONDOYAKI tried hard when second over this C&D last time. Callan Murray is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 3
RACHEL WALL ran a cracker when fourth in the Grade 2 Follow @WorldPool on X Umkhomazi Stakes last time. She returns from a 13-week break and is making her seasonal debut. The daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody looks to have some class about her and if not in need of the run, she may be the one to beat.
ARASHI was in need of her comeback run over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She ran a good race when third in the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery in her penultimate run. If finding the form of that outing, she should be competitive.
RIFLE QUEEN is unbeaten from two starts. She won her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course easier than the official margin suggests. She can remain unbeaten.
Race 4
TEXAS MISSILE is the best bet on the programme. He showed good improvement when second over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 2000m. The son of One World is a progressive type and is the horse to beat.
FUTURE SUCCESS stayed on when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Futura has scope and with luck from the widest draw, she should give the males a run for their money.
WAR SUMMIT was his own worst enemy last time as he over raced in the early stages. The manner in which he finished off his second career effort suggests that he will be suited to this distance. With luck in running, he may be the one to cause the upset.
Race 5
TOP DIVISION cost himself winning last time as he hung inwards between the 400m mark and 200m mark. The stable has opted to fit the blinkers which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He won on debut over this distance. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and may be the one to side with.
TWENTYTWENTYVISION has good recent form lines to his credit. He won his only attempt over this C&D, three runs ago. The son of Royal Mo merits healthy respect.
VANAKKAM showed speed when winning her maiden over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. She raced in features prior to that outing. She does take on stronger, but has scope and should give a good account of herself.
Race 6
GIMMETHEGOODLIFE showed speed when winning his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and can notch up his fifth-career victory.
ESPINOZA finished 2.55 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN raced from a prominent position over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Roaming Spirit. The fitting of the blinkers seems to have done the trick and he should earn another cheque.
Race 7
SHADOWFAX ran on strongly when second in the Grade 2 Follow @WorldPool on X Umkhomazi Stakes last time. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of One World will be ideally at his best over further, but he has loads of class and should be involved at the finish.
KING HARALD had excuses in his seasonal debut over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He was reported to be cut into and cast a shoe. The son of Erik The Red will strip much fitter and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
BLIZZARD QUEST is the stable companion of the top choice. He returns from a 13-week break which may have done him the world of good. The son of Querari has scope and if not in need of the run, he can improve to finish in the placings.
Race 8
FALCON STRIKE produced a typical second run after a rest last time. His penultimate run when third over this distance on the Classic course was encouraging. He takes a drop in class and should be at peak fitness. The booking of Callan Murray is a big plus and if putting his best foot forward, he can notch up his third-career victory.
PEREGRINE FALCON was a tad disappointing when fourth over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MAVERICK QUEEN showed speed when winning her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She is in a good space and must be considered
