Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday 14th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
SICILY should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark. He finished 0.4 lengths behind LANA‘S GAL that day and is 1kg better off at the weights. That should be enough to turn the form around. Callan Murray steps back into the saddle and he can shed his maiden tag.
LANA‘S GAL showed speed over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Made In Chelsea. The daughter of Hawwaam has scope and with Richard Fourie aboard, she is one of the leading contenders.
MAC D finished 3.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 2
VIVA ASTERIX caught the eye when winning on debut over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Vercingetorix is bred for further, but he looks to have class about him and can remain unbeaten.
THE CULLINAN is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Omoda Golden Horseshoe. He returns from a 15-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Legislate makes his seasonal debut and on previous form, he should give a good account of himself.
BIG CITY ROLLER won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D last time. The son of Rafeef takes on stronger, but he is a progressive type and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 3
QUEEN REGENT produced good form last season. She won her penultimate outing over this distance in the Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes. The daughter of Querari is unbeaten from two starts on this course. If not in need of the run, she may be hard to peg back.
VICTORY IN ORLEANS is unbeaten in two starts for the Vaughan Marshall stable. She returns from a 22-week break and makes her seasonal debut. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she can notch up the hat-trick.
TULIP FIELDS has good recent form to her name. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have freshened up. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. If fit, she should give a good account of herself.
Race 4
Trainer Justin Snaith holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. FINAL SAY showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. The daughter of Trippi was running on too late. If confirming her recent improvement, she can go one better.
SIGN OF SPRING has shown improvement in each of her efforts to date. She was slow into stride over this C&D last time, but stayed on at the finish. She is a progressive type and there may be more to come.
GIMME PERFECT finished 0.2 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 5
FOG IN FINLAND was not disgraced when 3.7 lengths behind Double Grand Slam in the Grade 3 Diana Stakes last time. She set the pace that day, but lacked extra in the latter stages. The daughter of Erik The Red takes a big drop in class and if seeing out the mile, she may be hard to peg back.
BACKINTHEFASTLANE is better than his last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. The 13-week break would have done him the world of good. Despite his big mass of 65kgs, he may be the first male past the post.
THOMAS JENKINS should have finished closer last time as he was switched for running room at the 250m mark. With luck in running, he can place in this line-up.
Race 6
TRIP TO CAMELOT was touched off in his last start over 2000m on this course. The son of Trippi returns from a well-deserved 13-week break. He won his maiden over this C&D. He is a horse with ability and if fit, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
SIGNOR DANTE finished 0.3 lengths behind CAPTAINS ALLIANCE last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter.
CAPTAINS ALLIANCE has consistent form to his name. He received a bump leaving the start last time, but stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Captain Of All will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 7
TENANGO is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint. He had to check at the 1000m mark and was reported to be coughing. The son of Canford Cliffs has won once and finished third twice from four starts on this course. He returns from an 11-week break and with luck in running, he can go close.
CAFE CULTURE did not go on with the effort in the Grade 3 Matchem Stakes last time. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts on this course. On best form shown, he cannot be discounted.
THE US OF A was caught late over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts over this distance. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he may be rewarded for consistency.
RACE 8
GRAPES OF WRATH justified favouritism when winning the Listed Irridescence Stakes last time. She returns from a well-deserved 16-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The well-bred daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has a lot of class about her. Despite her big mass of 63kgs, she can notch up her third-career victory.
SAACHI ONE has been taking on stronger company in recent efforts. She has dropped in the ratings and with luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
MEG‘S LEGACY won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Legislate is in a good space and merits obvious consideration
