Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday 21st October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
AFRICAN KINGFISHER made the expected natural improvement when second over 1250m on this course last time. She showed good speed before getting caught late by subsequent winner Georgie Girl. The daughter of Kingman should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she can go one better.
PEACH COBBLER took the lead at the 200m mark last time before getting touched off by Viridian Ruby. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KIM CHANEL did not go on with the effort over 1250m last time. The booking of Craig Zackey is encouraging and on her previous form, she should have a say.
Race 2
RAIN IN FRANCE caught the eye when fourth on debut over 1250m on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Futura will love the rise to 1400m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can win.
DARK PASSENGER took time to find his feet on debut, but finished off his race well. The son of Futura would have come on from the run and over the extra distance on offer, he should make the natural progression.
AT IT AGAIN is an unraced son of Futura from the Justin Snaith stable with JP van der Merwe doing duty. He is bred to be at his best over further, but if not too green, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 3
NAVIGATION ran a good race when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that Coast Of The Sun has come out and won again since. The son of Vercingetorix returns from a 21-week break, during which time he was gelded. He looks to have ability and if fit, he may be the one to beat.
ONE SPIRIT ran a good race when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He returns from a 28-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of One World looks to be progressive and should be competitive.
FOURTH OF JULY was disappointing over 1250m on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course last time. He finished second on debut over 1250m on this course. The booking of Keagan de Melo is a big plus and with luck in running, he can feature.
Race 4
This is a competitive Maiden Plate for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first choice is JANE AUSTEN from the Michelle Rix stable. She showed speed over 1250m last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Future Engagement. The daughter of Erik The Red tries the 1400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may be hard to peg back.
VIRGINIA BLUEBELL was running on when third over 1250m on this course last time. She will strip much fitter and should love the rise to 1400m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ONE DAWN was running on when third over 1250m last time. The daughter of One World is coming along the right way and with Keagan de Melo up, she should fight out the finish.
Race 5
SOHO HEARTTHROB showed a good turn of foot when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and can follow up.
WITCH HAZEL stayed on when fifth over 1250m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Hawwaam should have no issues with the rise to the mile and he is one of the leading contenders.
BILLY BOWLEGS is better than his last start in the Listed Settlers Trophy. He finished third over this C&D in his penultimate run. The 7yo gelding continues to drop in the ratings and he would not be a shock winner.
Race 6
ONE LINER was running on too late when 0.1 lengths behind LYRICAL GANGSTER last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough to turn the form around. He finished 1.35 lengths behind BLACK CHEETAH in his penultimate outing. He is 2kgs better off at the weights which is enough to turn the tables. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
KATTEKWAADKWADRAAD finished 0.5 lengths behind LYRICAL GANGSTER last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.
LYRICAL GANGSTER is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He may still be ahead of the handicapper and can win again.
Race 7
TIME OF OUR LIVES was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D last time. He raced from just off the pace, showed a good turn of foot and won well. The son of Querari takes on stronger, but he is a progressive type and can follow up with another victory.
CROWN CHASER was victorious on debut at long odds. The daughter of Legislate returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She is the stable elect with Aldo Domeyer aboard and could be anything.
DREAM TRIP won her maiden easier than the official margin suggests over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The daughter of Rafeef returns from a 17-week break. She has plenty of scope and should give a good account of herself.
RACE 8
BORN TO MASTER followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D. He finished 0.2 lengths behind FORT LIAM that day. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which is enough to turn the form around. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
FORT LIAM lasted long enough when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Despite his big mass of 63kgs, he should fight out the finish.
CEDAR POINT produced a strong finish when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. The blinkers did the trick on the son of Vercingetorix. He steps up to 2000m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can go close
