A new era has begun as Punters’ Challenge now offers weekly prizes over and above the daily ones. Earn the most points during a week or pick the most winners and you could win a share of R10 000 in either category. Bet R150 over the course of a week and you could win big! We’re excited to introduce two new weekly leaderboards for the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge! We’ll break down the prize tiers a bit later. Let’s first talk about how to qualify for the weekly prizes:
- Make selections for at least two weekday meetings (Monday to Friday)
- Make selections for all of the weekend race meetings (including special editions)
- Spend at least R150 on the betslip over the course of the week.
Leaderboard Prizes
There are two weekly leaderboards that you can qualify for, provided you meet the criteria above: most points and most winners. Each has its own R10 000 prize pool.
- Most Points: R10 000 shared among the top 40 on the weekly leaderboard
- Most Winners: R10 000 is shared among the player/s who tip the most winners in a week, provided they have a 40% winning strike rate.

Weekly Challenge Terms and Conditions
- The Hollywoodbets Weekly Punters Challenge will run until further notice and may be withdrawn or amended by Hollywoodbets at any time without prior notification.
- The campaign will start on 31 August 2026 and run indefinitely unless stated by Hollywoodbets.
- This promotion applies ONLY to the weekly points and most winners’ leaderboard which appears on the Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge Website.
- For the Weekly Punters Challenge competition, there will be NO FREE TO PLAY ELEMENTS, in order to qualify for the prizes stipulated in points 5 & 6, clients will be required to bet R150 accumulatively across the week.
- For the purposes of the weekly punters challenge competition, the week will start on a Monday and End on the Sunday, unless otherwise specified.
- Prize money of R10 000 for each of the leaderboards (Most Points & Most Winners) will be shared by the Top 40 (excluding clients who have not met the qualifying criteria) on the leaderboard as follows:
- 1st Place: R4 000
- 2nd Place: R1 500
- 3rd Place: R700
- 4th Place: R350
- 5th – 10th Place: R200
- 11th – 40th Place: R75
- There will be a KING OF THE WEEK PRIZE of R10 000 which will be shared by the punter(s) who are able to tip more than 40% of the winners during the course of the week
- In order to qualify for the King of the Week prize, clients would be required to make selections for at least 2 weekly meetings (Monday to Friday) and ALL weekend race meetings inclusive of special editions in addition to the entry mechanism stipulated in point 2.
- Hollywoodbets reserves the right to disqualify any participant who does not meet the qualifying criteria of the Weekly Punters Challenge.
- Disqualified participants will forfeit any Leaderboard Prize and/or King of the Week Prize, regardless of their position on the leaderboard or points/winners accrued.
General Terms and Conditions
- The Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge will run until further notice and may be withdrawn or amended by Hollywoodbets at any time without prior notification.
- The competition is open to all Hollywoodbets account holders who are duly registered and verified.
- Entry is free of charge for all eligible and registered participants.
- Non-account holders will be redirected to register an account. Upon successful registration, their new login credentials will enable participation in the Punters Challenge.
- Participants may enter the Challenge up to five (5) minutes before the scheduled start of the first race at the selected venues.
- Entrants may choose to participate using either their real name (as per the registered account) or a pseudonym (“nom de plume”).
- Hollywoodbets reserves the right to amend or reject any pseudonym deemed inappropriate, offensive, or misleading, at its sole discretion.
- The Challenge applies to all race meetings held in South Africa, and both Happy Valley and Sha Tin (Hong Kong)
- Hollywoodbets reserves the right to run Special Edition Punters Challenge Competitions for selected race meetings at its discretion, including but not limited to high-profile international or local events. These special editions may feature different prize structures, qualifying criteria, or entry requirements, which will be communicated in advance via official Hollywoodbets platforms.
- If any scheduled race is abandoned, selections for that race will be disabled. Existing selections will be retained; however, no points will be awarded for abandoned races.
- In the event that a race is reinstated, a default selection, the tote favourite, will be submitted automatically on behalf of participants to maintain a complete set of selections.
- Betting-related refunds (if applicable) will be handled in accordance with Hollywoodbets’ standard refund policy.
- All non-special editions of the punters challenge leaderboard will have a prize pool of R5 000 that will be shared by the top 20 unless otherwise stated, these prizes will be shared as per the below breakdown:
- 1st Place: R2 000
- 2nd Place: R1 000
- 3rd Place: R500
- 4th Place: R250
- 5th – 10th Place: R125 each
- 11th – 20th Place: R50 each
- In the event that two or more participants achieve the same final score and are therefore tied for a leaderboard prize position, the prize values allocated to all positions affected by the tie will be added together and divided equally among the participants who are tied for those positions. Each tied participant will therefore receive an equal share of the combined prize value.
- Where racing is curtailed or abandoned for whatsoever reason during a meeting, then this daily prize shall be pro-rated based on the number of races completed vs the races carded on the day, provided that a minimum of four (4) races is completed. For example, if 6 races are completed on an 8-race card, then the total prize money of R3 7 50 (R5 000/8*6) shall be distributed to the top 20 players.
- Punters Challenge Jackpot:
- The Punters Jackpot will be awarded to any player who correctly selects all race winners on any given South African, Hong Kong or selected race day.
- The prize value of this jackpot is R100 000 regardless of the venue.
- In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally among winners. This is an “all or nothing” prize and is not pro-rated.
- A minimum of eight (8) completed races with official results is required for the jackpot to apply.
- A minimum of sixty-four (64) carded horses, with no field less than four (4) runners, is required for the jackpot to apply.
- Should a punter(s) select all the winners on any given race day and have taken a bet of R50 or more. The Jackpot Prize awarded will be as follows:
- All South African Race Meetings: R1 Million
- Hong Kong – 8 or 9 completed races: R250 000
- Hong Kong – 10 or more completed races: R500 000
- Other selected race days – R250 000
- Only bets placed before the running of Race 1 will qualify for the Bonus Jackpot prize.
- On race days with only seven (7) races and a minimum of 56 carded runners with no field less than four (4) runners, the jackpot prize for selecting all the winners on the day will be capped at R100 000 provided that the punter(s) have taken a bet or R50 or more. Should the punter(s) select all the winners and not take a bet of R50 or more, there will be no jackpot prize awarded.
- Dead-heat rules apply in the event of ties.
- Prize Payments: All winnings will be paid directly into winners’ Hollywoodbets accounts within 48 hours after the event.
- Prize funds may be withdrawn or used for betting at the customer’s discretion.
- Hollywoodbets is not liable for delays due to technical issues.
- Points Allocation: Points are awarded based on finishing positions and the total number of runners.
- g., In a 10-horse race: 1st = 10 pts, 2nd = 9 pts, etc.
- Bonus points equal to the horse’s starting price (SP) are added to the winner’s score.
- Dead-heats and pulled-up horses are treated with aggregated or minimum points as appropriate.
- Points are updated cumulatively after each race and finalised by Hollywoodbets.
- No selections = 0 points.
- The final allocation of points shall be adjudicated and finalised by the Hollywoodbets Team, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the process or the outcome.
- Punters Challenge Bet Slip:
- Enables real bets using selections made in the Challenge.
- Stakes are deducted from the participant’s Hollywoodbets account.
- Participants may choose to take a Fixed Price (FP) or the Starting Price (SP).
- Multiples are calculated based on the horses selected by the participant.
- The following bet types are available: Single Wins, Single Places, Doubles, Trebles, Quads, All to Win and All to Place
- Potential payouts displayed are based on all selected horses winning or placing. Participants will only be paid for bets that are successful.
- All bets placed in the Punters Challenge will be visible in both the “My Bets” tab of the Punters Challenge website and in the “My Bets” section of the Hollywoodbets website.
- Punters Challenge Lucky Picks:
- The Lucky pick feature automatically generates three bets using the selections made by the user.
- The bets generated are a Win Double, a Place Treble and a Win/Place Double
- Stakes are deducted from the participant’s Hollywoodbets account.
- Potential Payouts are calculated at Fixed Odds or the SP.
- Bets are governed by Hollywoodbets’ General Terms and Conditions, including maximum winnings rules and horse racing regulations.
- Bets will only be accepted where sufficient funds are available.
- Hollywoodbets disclaims liability for any betting errors, including failure to place a bet.
- Scratchings & Disqualifications: Scratched horses are automatically replaced by the tote favourite.
- Disqualified horses are considered to have finished last and earn one point.
- In the event of venue changes before 11 AM, punters may amend selections. If not, the original selections remain.
- Rescheduled meetings will reopen for fresh selections; previous entries are void.
- Submission & Selection Rules:
- Entries close five (5) minutes before the scheduled start of the first race
- It is each player’s sole responsibility to save selections before the cut-off.
- Selections can be edited before the deadline but must be saved to be valid.
- Hollywoodbets staff and developers may not enter any selections on behalf of any participant.
- This competition is intended for entertainment. Hollywoodbets reserves the right to withhold prizes if any abuse of the Challenge is suspected.
- Hollywoodbets reserves the right to suspend, amend or terminate the Challenge without notice.
- Participants waive any claims or expectations in such circumstances.
- By participating, all entrants accept these terms and consent to the public display of the leaderboard via digital, television, or social media platforms.
