Race 1
JACK’S LEGACY is an unraced daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody from the Tony Peter stable with Phenisile Mongqawa in the saddle. She is related to four-time winner Warrior Of Royalty. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
MOLTEN ROCK was touched off in her last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. She has experience on her side and should be the first raced runner past the post. She is carded to race on 12 July 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
BUFFALO DREAM was in need of her debut effort over 1000m at the Vaal. She would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can finish in the placings.
Race 2
ME AND YOU showed good improvement when second over this C&D last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. The daughter of Querari is a progressive type and can go one better.
EMPRESS OF PEACE tried hard when second over 1500m on the Vaal Classic course last time, but found one too good in the form of Baby Red. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
UP AND UP found one too good in the form of Moana last time. The daughter of New Predator is back in Maiden Company and should be involved at the finish.
Race 3
JIMMY VEGA ran a good race when second over 1400m on the Standside course last time. He received a bump leaving the start but stayed on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The blinkers and tongue-tie seem to have done the trick. With a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.
KOVIL ran a fair race when fifth over 1400m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
PUTTHELIGHTSOUT was a beaten odds-on favourite over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He makes his way to the Highveld and can finish in the placings.
Race 4
PEARL IN HER CROWN showed good signs of a form return when second over 1400m at the Vaal last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on strongly. She should get a good run in transit from Barrier Three and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
DELAWARE RIVER finished 0.3 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
EIGHT HATS finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much between them at the finish.
Race 5
LADY SABRINA finished 2.1 lengths behind KENSAL GREEN last time. She is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. The daughter of Erupt won her only attempt over this C&D. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field, will be running on and can win.
KENSAL GREEN won a good race against male company over 1400m on the Standside course last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
RUSSIAN NOBILITY should have finished closer last time as she was cramped for galloping room at the 150m mark. With a bit of luck in running, she can finish in the placings.
Race 6
CHABAL finished 0.3 lengths behind STOP THE TRAFFIC last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. On best form shown, he can go close in this line-up. He is carded to race on 09 July 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
EUPHRATES stayed on when third over 2400m on the Standside course last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
STOP THE TRAFFIC‘S last two starts have been fair. He steps up to 2600m for the first time. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can earn another cheque.
Race 7
LOST FOR WORDS showed a good turn of foot when winning her last start over 1160m on the Standside course. She received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is having her peak run. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
HATHIGHWAYTOTHESKY is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders 1200. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. On her previous form, she should be competitive.
VALENTINA BALDUCCI was in need of her comeback run over 1160m on the Standside course. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. She is the class horse and on best form shown, she can feature.
Race 8
TRIP OF FAITH ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. She takes a drop in class and is back against her own sex. If Muzi Yeni can get her to settle early, she should be the one to beat.
PLUMBAGO PARK is better than her last start on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack as she was reported to be in season. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. Calvin Habib is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the awkward draw and she may be hard to peg back.
SAKURA HANAMI ran a fair race when third over 1160m on the Standside course last time. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and the combination cannot be discounted
