Race 1
THE BACHELORETTE has finished fourth in her last two starts. She was reported to be not striding out over 1200m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of William Longsword will enjoy the rise to 1450m and she may be the one to side with.
CAPABILITY BROWN showed the natural improvement when second over 1600m on the Standside course last time. The son of Flower Alley is a progressive type and should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
THE NAME OF DLADLA has consistent form to his name. He returns from a 24-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he can finish in the placings.
Race 2
SCENTED ALLEY received a bump leaving the start over this C&D last time, but finished off her race strongly. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Flower Alley is a progressive type and from her good draw of two, she can shed her maiden tag.
NIXIE GIRL was running on too late when second over 1200m on this course last time. The daughter of Royal Mo will love the rise to 1450m. With luck in running, she should fight out the finish.
WITHOUT REMORSE has fair consistent form to her name. She finished third over this C&D last time. The daughter of Querari will be staying on at the finish.
Race 3
STILO NOVO produced a promising debut effort over 1200m at TAB Vaal. He raced from a prominent position, but found one too good in the form of Berry Lancer who has come out and won again since. The son of Master Of My Fate found betting support which suggests that he was showing good work at home. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
THANKSGIVING DAY stayed on when third over 1000m at TAB Vaal last time. He is having his peak run today and from pole position, he should pose a threat.
MICRO JET showed good improvement when second over 1600m on this course last time. He returns from a 16-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 4
NARETOI has good recent form to his credit. He set the pace over 2400m on the Standside course last time before getting touched off by Golden Warrior. Calvin Habib is likely to use his early gate speed once again and in this line-up, he may be hard to peg back.
EPIDAURUS finished 3.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
PARTY PUNCH ran a good race when third over 2400m at TAB Vaal last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Kyle Strydom rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 5
TROJAN HORSE followed up his maiden victory with a creditable fifth-place finish over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Malmoos will love the rise to 1800m and should strip much fitter. With luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
IDEAL SUMMER was running on when third over this C&D last time. He drops in class and from his good draw of four, he should fight out the finish.
PROPER found one too good in the form of Noble Saint last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is a horse with scope and cannot be discounted.
Race 6
GOTTHETIGER followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1600m on this course. He was running on too late at the finish that day. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. He is a horse with ability and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can win.
WALKINGINTHEWOODS was a beaten odds-on favourite over this C&D last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
BLUNDERBORE was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D last time. The son of Malmoos is a progressive individual. He does take on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 7
ELUSIVE RED finished 0.25 lengths behind DRIVELIKEAMASTER last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. From pole position, he can notch up his third-career victory.
DRIVELIKEAMASTER raced from just off the pace over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Little Boy Blue. Chase Maujean rides and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.
WINDING POWER returns from a 12-week break and is having his first run for Trainer Paul Matchett. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Trippi is likely to race on the pace and if fit, he may be hard to catch.
Race 8
This is a competitive Merit Rated 80 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is LOVE NOT WAR from the Stuart Pettigrew stable. She stayed on when third over 1160m on the Standside course last time. She finished third in her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Act Of War will be mowing down the frontrunners.
BLINDFIRE has good consistent form to her name. She raced from a handy position over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time and stayed on at the finish. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Chester Choi which will assist her cause.
THERE SHE GOES was running on when fourth over 1160m on the Standside course last time. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. The 8yo mare cannot be ignored
