Canada and England meet in the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham on Saturday, 27 September. In this blog we’ll cover all things betting related, with a spotlight on the handicap and points lines, and we’ll also keep an eye on the Bronze Medal match taking place earlier in the day.

BET: CANADA v ENGLAND

Posted 27 Sep 15h11

With the overs landing in the bronze match, I head into this one in good spirits after what has been an amazing tournament to both watch and bet on. I have no firm view on the final itself, but I do think it will be close. Unfortunately, I cannot find an “either team by 7 or less” market, which would have been my preferred angle.

Instead, I am siding with Canada. Their win over the Black Ferns looks even more impressive after the bronze final (although it’s always dangerous to read too much into that type of game).

2 units Canada to lift the cup at 21/10 (Betxchange)
0.5 unit draw at 25/1 (WSB) – a speculative play on the 80-minute draw.

The points line has edged up to 51.5 and, if pushed, I would lean unders.

Women’s Rugby World Cup – Betting Update

Bronze Final – New Zealand v France
Kick-off: 27 Sept, 13:30 GMT | 15:30 SAST – Twickenham Stadium

  • Handicap: New Zealand -8.5

  • Points line: 52.5

New Zealand opened -9.5 and have eased slightly to -8.5 with some support for France. The points line has held steady around 52.5 as predicted when putting it up earlier in the week. Conditions are expected to be decent, and I have loaded up a bit on the over 52.5 via multiples into it.

Final – Canada v England
Kick-off: 27 Sept, 17:00 GMT | 19:00 SAST – Twickenham Stadium

  • Handicap: England -6.5

  • Points line: 50.5

England opened -7.5 and are now trading at -6.5 with solid Canadian support after their impressive win over New Zealand. The total points line is 50.5, up from 48.5 earlier in the week, this is likely as fears of rain subside.

I am not involved with the final yet and am going to leave this one late and will only get on after the Bronze match where my mood might determine my bet.

3 units over 52.5 points at 17/20 at Pokerbet

Third-place playoff matches can always be tricky and team selection will play a big role, but I expect both sides to approach this one with intent. Conditions look good and I’m banking on the defensive intensity dropping slightly, as often happens in these consolation fixtures.

I don’t think this market will shift much, but with plenty of bets coming up this weekend I’d rather lock it in early and move on.

Women’s Rugby World Cup – Semi-Finals Recap

BET: New Zealand v Canada
2 units Canada win at 15/10 (WSB) ✅ WINNER

Canada produced the performance of the round, beating New Zealand 34–19. Their strong start and defensive effort proved too much for the Black Ferns and our bet was never in danger.

BET: France v England
5 units England -19.5 at 0.92/1 (Betxchange) ❌ LOSER

England won 35–17, but the scoreline flattered them and the -19.5 never looked like landing. France were well in the contest for long periods and had the Red Roses under pressure, especially around the breakdown and in defence. England pulled clear late, but the winning margin of 18 meant they fell just short of covering the -19.5 line.

Overall we broke square on the weekend which was disappointing after that Canada win.

Women’s Rugby World Cup Final – Preview & Early Betting

Posted 21 Sep

Canada v England
Kick-off: 27 September, 16:00 GMT | 18:00 SAST
Venue: Twickenham Stadium, London

England have been dominant throughout the tournament, sweeping aside every opponent with suffocating defence and efficient attack. However, their 35–17 semi-final win over France wasn’t as comfortable as the scoreline suggests. The French pack caused them real problems and exposed some cracks out wide that Canada will no doubt have noted.

Canada, meanwhile, arrive at Twickenham brimming with confidence after a statement 34–19 victory over New Zealand in the semi-finals. That followed their 46–5 demolition of Australia in the quarters, underlining how balanced and clinical they have been in the knockout stages.

Match Betting

Canada 14/5

Draw 24/1

England 17/50

Handicap: Canada +7.5 v England

14/5 seems a big price on Canada based on the semi-finals but I want to give this game more thought before getting involved and bets will follow.

Bronze Final – Preview

New Zealand v France
Kick-off: 27 September, 12:30 GMT | 14:30 SAST
Venue: Twickenham Stadium, London

Both sides will be disappointed not to be contesting the final. New Zealand were outplayed by Canada and looked short of answers in key moments, while France showed flashes of brilliance but ultimately couldn’t live with England’s power and finishing. Motivation will be key in this clash, and with no betting markets priced yet, we’ll keep an eye on the lines before committing to a play.
