Weather Forecast - Edinburgh

Scotland:

Scotland began their campaign against Italy in Rome, they started as favourites at around 8.5 points on the bookmakers main handicap line but they finished beaten 18-15. The Scots conceded 2 tries in the first 13 minutes and although Jack Dempsey scored their first try they trailed 15-7 at the break. After the teams traded a penalty score each a George Horne try reduced the deficit to 18-15 on 66 minutes and that’s how it stayed.

In last years Six Nations Scotland finished down the field with 2 wins and 3 defeats. They started with a 31-19 home win over Italy before defeats at home to Ireland (32-18) and away to England (16-15). Their second win came at home to Wales (35-29) and they finished that tournament with a 35-16 loss in France

In the Six Nations outright betting Hollywoodbets have Scotland priced at 40/1 to win the title and 11/1 for the Triple Crown.

Results and Fixtures: R1 Italy (a) lost 18-15, R2 England (h), R3 Wales (a), R4 France (h), R5 Ireland (a)

England:

England began their tournament at home to Wales and they picked up where they left off 2025 with a thumping 48-7 win, their 12th successive test match victory. They easily covered the main handicap line which settled in the region of 27.5 points, scoring 7 tries in total including a first half hat trick for Henry Arundell. England’s other tries came from Ben Earl, Tom Roebuc a penalty try and finally Tommy Freeman. George Ford landed 4 conversions and a penalty.

England had a solid 6 Nations last year, winning 4 and losing 1 of their matches to finish in second spot, just 1 point behind title winners France. They lost their opening match of that tournament in Ireland (27-22) before narrow wins at home to France (26-25) and Scotland (16-15). They also put Italy away (47-24) in another home fixture before a thumping (68-14) victory in Wales.

In the Six Nations outright betting Hollywoodbets have England priced up as even money second favourites to win the title, 2/1 for a Grand Slam and 11/20 for the Triple Crown

Results and Fixtures: R1 Wales (h) won 48-7, R2 Scotland (a), R3 Ireland (h), R4 Italy (a), R5 France (a)

BET: 3 units (1–5)
Selection: England over 27.5 points
Odds: 19/20 at Hollywoodbets

England did the damage early against Wales, getting the job done in the first half before easing off after the break. They now face a Scotland side that had to battle in heavy conditions last time out and should be far more enterprising in what is expected to be a cold but dry encounter.

The handicap sits around England -7.5 to -8.5, depending on where you shop, but my preference here is the points angle. The main points line is 46.5, and while some recent head-to-heads have been very low scoring, this bet would have landed in two of the last three meetings between the sides.

Both teams like to play at tempo, and England in particular have the attacking depth to put points on the board. I do like the overs in general, but with my lean towards England on the handicap, I would rather isolate that view and back England to score 28 or more.
