The 3rd week of the Rugby Championship 2005 takes place on Saturday 06 September and all the talk is about the massive clash between the All Blacks and Springboks at Eden Park. We look back at week 2 and keep and eye on all things betting related.

A SMALL PROFIT

Posted 06 Sep 11h16

I really enjoyed both test matches especially the Eden Park clash.

Unders arrived nicely to deliver a small profit with overs missing out in the early kickoff.

Looking forward to next week already and new blog will be up Sunday night.

BET: NEW ZEALAND V SOUTH AFRICA

Posted 05 Sep 21h56

4 units under 48.5 points at 9/10 at Hollywoodbets

The big one has finally arrived and while neither team looks quite at 100% this should be played at close to RWC final intensity.

The handicap has been stable at -5.5 New Zealand although there were some bookies dangling -3.5 early in the week.

The points line is 48.5 and it should be cold and a bit windy with rain earlier in the day likely to have cleared.

I don't have firm views on the handicap although gun to head I would probably go All Blacks.

A bet I fancy a bit is either team by 7 or less but the 13/10 is a couple of points too short for me and I will turn to the points lines instead.

I think defence will dominate and the under 48.5 is the play.

BET: AUSTRALIA V ARGENTINA

Posted 05 August 20h06

3 units over 55.5 points at 9/10 at Betxchange

There has been very little betting movement in this one and the handicap is still Australia -6.5.

It should be a great contest and I don't have a strong feel for the handicap but reckon it could be a free flowing game.

I am going to follow the likes of Southpaw in our forum with an overs play.

Rugby Championship Week 2 Recap & Week 3 Betting

Betting Recap – Week 2

BET: South Africa v Australia

  • 5 units under 53.5 points at 0.88/1 WIN
Final score: South Africa 3022 Australia (52 points).
A tight contest in Cape Town delivered exactly as expected, with the Boks reverting to a more set-piece and territory game plan. The under 53.5 landed despite a fast start and some nervous moments in the final minutes. Unfortunately I pressed at under 51.5 when I sent out the weekly newsletter – click here to join me as I battle the bookies

BET: Argentina v New Zealand

  • 3 units over 55.5 points at 9/10 LOSS
The match ended Argentina 2923 New Zealand (52 points). We were a week early with the Argentina to win play

BET BUILDER: Argentina v New Zealand

  • 1 unit at 17/2: Over 55.5 points / New Zealand by 1–12 / Codie Taylor ATS LOSS
A speculative punt that didnt land, as Argentina pulled off a famous first home win over the All Blacks. There was no try for Taylor in his 100th test.

Current Standings after Round 2

  • New Zealand: Played 2, Points 6

  • Australia: Played 2, Points 5

  • South Africa: Played 2, Points 4
