Race 1

BEAUTIFUL WINTER produced an encouraging debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He was understandably green in running but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

FENCING CAPTAIN has good form lines to his credit. He has shown good speed in his last two starts before getting outrun late. The son of Captain Of All may be rewarded for consistency. 

ELIZABEDI GOLD is an unraced son of Gold Standard from the Candice Bass- Robinson stable with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle. If not too green in running, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

Race 2

LION RAMPART was super-impressive when winning the Listed Somerset 1200 last time. He returns from a 22-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of One World won his only attempt over this C&D. He is the class horse in this contest and should take a power of beating. 

ROMAN AGENT returns from a 22-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Vercingetorix showed promise earlier in his career. If not in need of this outing, he should return to best form. 

HANDSOME PRINCE is the stable companion of the second selection. He stayed on well when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He has racing fitness on his side and must be included in all bets. 

Race 3

OCOTILLO produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She was understandably green in running, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and she is bred to love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better. 

TUSCAN ROMANCE has finished second in all four outings to date. Jockey Luyolo Mxothwa is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and she may be rewarded for consistency. 

SPECIAL GLAMOUR finished 4.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 4

AMONG THE CLOUDS tried hard in her last start when 0.2 lengths behind PRINCESS OF BAYEUX. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished second in her only C&D attempt. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber may be the one to side with in a competitive field. 

PRINCESS OF BAYEUX was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect. 

PLUM PUDDING challenged strongly last time but found one too good in the form of Heliotrope. She finished 1.2 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

Race 5

FUTURE TURN raced from a handy position over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time before getting outrun late. He has won once and finished third twice from eight starts over this C&D. Grant van Niekerk is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

ROYAL INVITATION finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. 

THE GREY KING stayed on when second over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts on this course. If not in need of this outing, he should be involved at the finish. 

Race 6

DANCE VARIETY has good consistent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner in his comeback run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The son of Var will strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and with luck in running, he can notch up his sixth-career victory. 

MEU CAPITANO is a winner of his last three starts. He returns from a well-deserved 22-week break which would have done him the world of good. It is encouraging that Grant van Niekerk is booked to ride and if fit, he should go close. 

ICY BLAST finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned, but he should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

ALL OUT FOR SIX ran a good race when second in the Grade 3 Langerman last time. He returns from a 19- week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. Both his career victories have come over this C&D. The son of One World has class about him and he should be hard to peg back. 

GREAT PLAINS stayed on when fourth in the Grade 1 World Pool Moment Of The Day Premiers Champion Stakes last time. The son of Danon Platina is making his seasonal debut after a 14-week break. He is ideally suited to this distance and merits healthy respect. 

TALK TO THE MASTER stayed on when third in his comeback run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He finished 2.3 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 8

BIG UNIT stayed on when fourth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he can notch up his fourth-career victory. 

UNICORN ALERT finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The slight concern is that he is yet to win on this course. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

DAS GUTE has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. He does have a wide draw to contend with, but Devin Ashby knows him well and should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle. 

Race 9

DAFNES DAUGHTER followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. It must be noted that Be Merry has come out and won again since. The daughter of Vercingetorix has ability and she should be the one to beat. 

THE CHARLESTON found one too good in the form of Nordic Quest last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

ICY LANCASTER got up where it matters most when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. If suited to this course, she should give a good account of herself
