Race 1

This is the first juvenile race on the Highveld and the betting market will be the best guide in this contest. SCORPIO is an unraced son of Gimmethegreenlight from the Corne Spies yard who has a good record with his juveniles. He is related to three-time winner Mount Pinatubo. Marco van Rensburg is booked to ride and if not too green, he should start his career on a positive note.

PRINCESS KEIRA is a daughter of One World from the Sean Tarry stable with Richard Fourie booked to ride. She is related to multiple winners including Prince Of Venice and Princess Philippa. If not in need of this outing, she should be involved at the finish.

CAROLINE ISLAND hails from the Tony Peter stable and she is a daughter of Querari. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and if not too green, she can finish in the money.

Race 2

GERBERA produced a promising debut effort over 1200m at the Vaal. She should have finished closer that day and got going late. It must be noted that Cars Big As Bars has come out and won again since. The daughter of One World found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. Craig Zackey retains the ride and with a bit of luck from an inside barrier, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ROAMING SPIRIT has produced three creditable efforts to date. She stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Fastnet Filly. She will strip a much fitter horse and is one of the leading contenders.

FLIGHT OF A CONDOR finished strongly when second over 1000m on the Inside course on debut. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 2.5kgs off her back and she cannot be ignored.

Race 3

DAVE THE KING is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Allied Steelrode-Onamission Charity Mile as he was reported to be not striding out. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D when 3 lengths behind UNZEN. He is 6kgs better off at the weights for this outing. The son of Global View is the class horse in this contest and he should take a power of beating.

UNZEN is better than his last start suggests. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Three of his six career victories have come over this C&D. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and on best form, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

THE SPECIALIST was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over 1200m on the Inside course. He carries a light mass of 51kgs and if finding his juvenile form, he would not be a shock winner.

Race 4

WHITE PEARL won a good race in her last start over 1400m on this course. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew off in the latter stages. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Danon Platina is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.

MRS BROWNING was in need of her comeback run over this C&D. She has won four times and finished third once from seven starts over this C&D. She is the class horse in this contest and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

TROPPO VELOCE finished 2.5 lengths behind ELEGANT ICE last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She is drawn on the outside of the course and would not be a shock winner.

Race 5

CATS PAJAMAS was super-impressive when winning his seasonal debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Rafeef receives 11.5kgs from LUCKY LAD and he is drawn on the outside of the track. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and if all went well with his travels, he can bring up the hat-trick.

LUCKY LAD rallied late when second over this C&D last time. He has won three times and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He will strip a much fitter horse and despite the big mass, he merits healthy respect.

PISTOL PETE was outrun late when second over 1100m on this course last time. It must be noted that Greaterix has come out and won again since. He would have come on from the run and should be competitive.

Race 6

FATAL FLAW was an easy winner of the Grade 3 HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes last time. She set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of New Predator finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Piere Strydom is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.

VJ‘S ANGEL was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and if jumping on terms, she should fight out the finish.

WORLD OF ALICE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She will strip a much fitter horse and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 7

GREATERIX is the best bet on the programme. He has been super-impressive in his last two victories after returning from a 32-week break. He set the pace over this C&D last time, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Vercingetorix is drawn in pole position which is a big plus. Kabelo Matsunyane retains the ride and he should be hard to peg back.

QUID PRO QUO was super-impressive when winning the Grade 1 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes last time. She returns from an 18-week break and makes her seasonal debut. Piere Strydom is booked to ride and if not in need of this outing, she should give the males a run for their money.

MOONLIGHT TRADER was a surprise winner in the Grade 3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time. He steps up to 1600m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can bring up the hat-trick.

Race 8

ROYAL VICTORY produced an encouraging seasonal debut over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He finished 1.2 lengths behind SEE IT AGAIN that day. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. The wide draw should not pose an issue as Gavin Lerena has the back straight to get into a good position. The son of Pathfork won this race last year and he should defend his title.

SEE IT AGAIN won a good race in his first run as a gelding. Two of his seven career victories have come over this distance. In-form Jockey Piere Strydom steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

SILVER SANCTUARY has produced two encouraging fourth-place finishes this season. The daughter of Silvano has been prepared for this race and she will love the rise to 2000m. She is having her peak run and would not be a shock winner.

Race 9

MARAUDING HORDE is better than his last start in the Listed Allied Steelrode Java Stakes. He won a good race in his penultimate outing over 1800m on this course. The son of Vercingetorix is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. The blinkers will be re-fitted for this outing and from pole position, he can return to winning ways.

MERIDIUS is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Allied Steelrode- Onamission Charity Mile. His previous two runs were good. He is drawn wide in barrier 13 but gets the services of Oisin Murphy, who should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

CRIMSON KING fought hard for his last victory over 3200m on this course. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.

Race 10

POETS WARRIOR was an easy winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 2400m in the Listed Allied Steelrode Java Stakes. He received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Wylie Hall tries the 3200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can bring up the hat-trick.

BATTLEGROUND finished 4 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He has no stamina issues and merits obvious inclusion.

RAISEAHALLELUJAH finished 7 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He has stamina doubts over this distance, but has class and cannot be ignored.

Race 11

MASTERSHIP stayed on at the finish over this distance on the Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Barbaresco. He has won three times and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. The 10-week break may have done him the world of good. He has class about him and if fit, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

CHAMPION WARRIOR is a winner of his last two starts. He received an eight-pound penalty for his recent victory. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

PRESLEY is better than his last start over 1700m. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. From pole position, he can find a form return
