DANCING IN WINTER ran a creditable race on debut over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She returns from a 26-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

RACE 2

FLASH LIGHTNING ran a good race when second over 1100m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. Donald Geerthsen takes the 1.5kgs off his back and if confirming his recent improvement, he can win a race of this nature. 

MAN OF COURAGE has run two fair races to date. The son of Soqrat will love the step up to 1400m. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

DONNY‘S BOY is better than his last start as he was reported to have choked up. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. On his previous form, he should be competitive. 

RACE 3

ELUSIVE MATA has finished second in her last two starts over this distance on the polytrack. She stayed on at the finish last time but found one too good in the form of Galaxy Moment. She is the form horse in this contest and can shed her maiden tag. 

ANGEL OF MY HEART was her own worst enemy over 2200m on the polytrack last time as she over raced in the early stages. She will enjoy the drop in trip and the return to the turf. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

BEIJING BOULEVARD finished 4.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. 

RACE 4

JUAN CARLOS showed good guts when fighting back to win his last start over 2000m on this course. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. 

NO PLACE LIKE HOME stayed on when fifth over 2000m last time. He finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

WOMAN‘S WORLD is better than her last start in the Listed Jockey Club Stakes. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. On best form shown, she should give the males a run for their money. 

Race 5

MISS SHAIVI has consistent recent form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time and stayed on at the finish. Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and she may be rewarded. 

COLD TRUTH finished 0.25 lengths behind MEDITERANEANGODDES last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She is having her peak run today and may be hard to peg back. 

BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on the turf. She received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory. 

Race 6

GOLDEN LINK stayed on when third in the Racing Association Plate last time. He was reported to have choked up that day. The drop to 1200m is no concern as he has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Gold Standard will be mowing down the frontrunners. 

FOREST SPY finished 3.75 lengths behind ANUSCHKA’S WORLD last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today. He has won once and finished second five times from eight starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. 

ANUSCHKA‘S WORLD won his last start easier than the official margin suggests. He received a hefty penalty for that victory but is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

RACE 7

ARABIAN RED moved up like a winner over 1600m last time before getting outrun late. She has good recent form lines to her credit. The daughter of Heavenly Blue meets the right field and she can notch up her third-career victory. 

QUERANDI ran a decent race when third over 1900m last time. She finished 1.85 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result. She is carded to race on 11 October 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored. 

KILMONIVAIG ran a decent race against stronger company over this distance on the polytrack last time. Two of her three career victories have come on this course. She takes a drop in class and can finish in the placings. 

RACE 8

HEART STEALER won a game race in his local debut when badly out at the weights. He ran on well and fought hard all the way to the line. The stable have opted to fit the blinkers once again. He returns to Handicap Company and a repeat of his last outing will see him notch up the hat-trick. 

ABOUND took on stronger in his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. His penultimate run when third over 1100m catches the eye. He takes a drop in class and may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

HANGING ROCK cost herself at the start last time as she lost many lengths. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If jumping on terms, she should be competitive
