Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday 27th September where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
TAKATALVI has shown good improvement in each of her races to date. She set the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Last Winter is coming along the right way and if suited to this surface, she should shed her maiden tag.
CORAL BLAZE ran a good race when second in her stable debut over 1500m on the Turffontein Inside course. She would have come on from the run and if this outing has not come too soon, she should pose a massive threat.
MAGIC MAVERICK is better than her last start at Hollywoodbets Scottsville as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Horizon is having her peak run and if suited to the polytrack, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 2
AMOR FATI should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time as he hung outwards on the turn. The son of Global View steps up to 2000m and gets the services of Gavin Lerena. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
NEW FRONTIER set the pace over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time but found one too good in the form of Bella’s Pablo. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CITY LIGHTS hails from the visiting Fanie Bronkhorst stable. Her last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out post-race. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. If all went well with her travels, she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 3
ROYAL SWAN MASTER cost himself winning last time as he lost three lengths leaving the starting stalls. He finished 0.4 lengths behind OFFICER IN COMMAND that day and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Master Of My Fate should love the extra 100m on offer and if jumping on terms, he can notch up his third-career victory.
OFFICER IN COMMAND is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1700m on this course. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Flower Alley is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
NOCTURNAL FLIGHT ran a good race when having to overcome the widest draw last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the business end. He takes a rise in class but carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 4
FIELD MARSHAL’S last two starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but found one too good in the form of Selukwe. The son of Lancaster Bomber takes a drop-in class. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and if suited to the polytrack, he should win a race of this nature.
BLAZING LIGHT ran a good race when second over 1900m on this course last time. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of four and may be hard to peg back.
TIN CUP is better than his last start on the turf. He won a good race in his penultimate start on the turf. If putting his best foot forward, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 5
CERULEAN DANCER raced from a handy position at the Vaal last time, moved up but was outrun late. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Wylie Hall takes a drop in class and with the services of Rachel Venniker, she may be the one to side with.
WAY TO BURN stayed on when fourth over 1900m on this course last time. It must be noted that Doctor’s Orders has come out and won again since. She won her only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
VERMACILLI ran a good race when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. Serino Moodley is booked to ride which is a plus. If keeping on a straight line, she should be involved in the fight to the finish
Race 6
LOU LOU THE LEGEND has finished third in his last three starts for the MJ Odendaal stable. The manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. If this run has not come too soon, he can notch up his second-career victory.
MOVE TO PROVE has shown signs of needing his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He is having his peak run and drops in class. He is a horse with scope and is one of the leading contenders.
COUNT MARSH ran a fair race when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish fourth. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Damyan Pillay which will assist his cause. With luck in running, he won’t be a shock winner.
Race 7
MASK ON was doing his best work late when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding jumps from a good draw of two and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should return to winning ways.
GRIFFIN PARK finished 1.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He would have come on from the run and should enjoy the return to the Polytrack. Sean Veale is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.
CONNERY won a good race in his local debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this distance. Apprentice Jacey Botes retains the ride and he can notch up the hat-trick.
Race 8
TRIPPI T followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1000m on the turf. He showed good speed and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Trippi is likely to get his own way in front today and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
PREEMPTIVE STRIKE has decent recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. Four of his five career victories have come over this C&D and he merits healthy respect.
COMING IN HOT is better than his last start over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. Three of his five career victories have come over this distance. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
