The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 21st to 22nd September including the Currie Cup Final and Rugby Championship Round 5
It has been a while since the Newsletter had a losing weekend but when the crash came it was a hard one and a post 25th wedding anniversary hangover aside I was flat on Sunday contemplating that final soft Lions try conceded and then a Bulls team kicking for the draw against 12 men (it may have been 13, I had consumed a few cold ones by then).
It is proof once again that spotting the value and getting in before the price moves is well and good but unless you trade (not generally my style) or the bet arrives it is just a losing bet in the end.
That being said this is a long term game and if you consistently get the early prices and the market moves in your direction you will do ok.
A BUSY WEEKEND
There is plenty of great sport and rugby to look forward to this weekend with the start of the URC and Gallagher Prem, round 5 of the Rugby Champs and of course the Currie Cup Final. There is also EPL, PSL, NFL, F1 and Boxing.
THE HANDICAP
Oracle has taken some criticism for his lack of attention to team sheets but his method has worked for him over the years and I really enjoyed his analyses of some of this weeks games and what constitutes betting value on last nights show. There is more than one way to beat the bookie.

WEEKEND PLAYS
The confidence took a hit last week but after a quiet few days betting wise the wounds have been licked and I am raring to go.
Pumas To Push Boks All The Way
I am still to finalise my main play for this game and am currently mulling an over 51.5 strike – I recon Argentina will be a real challenge for the Boks and am looking for the World Cup Champions to win but by 12 points or less.
BET: 2 units SA by 1-12 points inclusive at 18/10 at Betxchange

The Game Of The Weekend- Lions v Sharks
Oracle made it clear this was the game of the weekend for him and I am 100% in agreement. I have not come to any firm conclusions yet and will wait to see conditions tomorrow (cold and very windy as I write this) before updating this blog which also has URC plays
An early bet which caught the eye from a price perspective is JC Pretorius to score the Lions Last try – he will be on at the end as coming off the bench and is often at the back of a maul.
BET: 0.5 unit JC Pretorius Lions last try at 18/1 at Pokerbet
A Few Rugby Combo’s
This is not a weekend where I am flying in with big bets although history suggests that strategy could change at any point.
I am though looking for a few longer odds plays and to have a bit of fun.
I reckon there could be an upset or 2 on the cards

0.25 unit Edinburgh, Sharks and …… Australia to win at 65/1 at Betxchange
