KaizerChiefsFive more Betway Premiership matches are scheduled to take place on Wednesday and our focus is on Amazulu v Kaizer Chiefs and the local derby between Stellenbosch and Cape Town City

Amazulu v Kaizer Chiefs

Amazulu have played just the one match so far and it ended in a 2-1 defeat away to Polokwane City. They took the lead after half an hour of play but conceded in injury time at the end of both halves to leave empty handed.

Chiefs began a new era under coach Nabi with a 2-1 win away to Marumo Gallants. Despite conceding inside the first 10 minutes they were soon level and Mfundo Vilakazi scored the only goal of the second half after Gallants were reduced to 10 men

The Betting

Amazulu are 2.35/1 to win the game with the draw at 19/10 and Chiefs can be backed at 13/10

The Verdict:

With both teams having played just the one competitive match they could still be a little rusty. The early momentum is with Chiefs however but it's early days to gauge what impact the new coach is having.

I will go with Chiefs to edge the game by a single goal margin but it is a very tentative call.

Bets: Winning margin, Chiefs by 1 goal exactly at 2.85/1 with Betway

Stellenbosch v Cape Town City

Stellenbosch began their league campaign with a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Golden Arrows, conceding twice in the last 20 minutes. Having finished third in the league last season Stellenbosch had made a positive start to the new campaign in reaching next week's MTN8 final where Pirates will provide the opposition.

They beat TS Galaxy 3-1 in a home quarter final before 1-0 wins home and away to Sundowns in the semis. They also completed a fine 3-1 aggregate win over AS Vita in the CAF Confederations Cup which was set up by a 2-0 home win.

City's only league game so far saw them draw 1-1 away to Royal AM. They took an early lead which they held until the 84th minute but had to settle for a point. City were also involved in the MTN8. They were 1-0 winners at Sekhukhune in the quarters but they bowed out to Pirates 3-1 on aggregate after drawing the home leg 1-1 and losing the return in Orlando 2-0.

The Betting

Stellies are 1.13/1 to win the game with the draw at 2/1 and City can be backed at 2.55/1

The Verdict:

Stellenbosch have won 6 and drawn 1 of the last 7 head to heads against City in the league and if you draw a line through their defeat to Arrows they have plenty going for them. They are hampered by having to play their home games at different venues though (this game will take place at Athlone) and they only arrived back from DR Congo on Monday.

That could be something of a leveller and I'm with the draw here.

Bets: Match result draw at 2/1 with Betway
