Race 1
BUZZ BOMB was not disgraced when sixth in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Lancaster Bomber should be at home over 1400m. He takes on weaker company and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can shed his maiden tag.
WORLD OF PLEASURE has produced two good efforts to date. The manner in which he finished off his last start suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CRIMSON COMET is an unraced son of Soqrat from the Glen Kotzen stable with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 2
TURBO TWENTY was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that One Stripe has come out and won with ease since. The son of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and there should be improvement to come. It is encouraging that Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride.
RAMA FORCESA took on winners in the Listed WSB Summer Juvenile Stakes last time. The son of What A Winter takes on Maiden Company this afternoon and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, there should be improvement to come.
AFRICAN PRINCE was in need of his debut effort in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He takes on Maiden Company this afternoon and should make the natural improvement.
Race 3
ZIL MORIS ran on strongly when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if getting away to a clean start, he can follow up.
LINDBERGH raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, moved up well and lasted long enough to keep challengers at bay. The drop to 1400m is no concern. From pole position, he is a solid back up for the Brett Crawford stable.
MY GOLLY MOLLY was in need of his comeback run over 1200m. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He has faced stronger company previously and in this line-up, he can cause the upset.
Race 4
BEST THING EVER produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. She understandably raced green but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with.
LOVE SHACK showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Captain’s Destiny. She has been costly to follow but may be rewarded for consistency.
PILOT FLAME finished 2 lengths behind the second selection on debut. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she should make the natural progression.
Race 5
SONG TO THE MOON stayed on when third over 1600m on this course last time. The son of What A Winter will love the rise to 1800m. He jumps from pole position and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he may be the one to beat.
STORM BOULEVARD set the pace over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Fly Futura. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will strip a much fitter horse and is one of the leading contenders.
KWITE A KING finished 0.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 6
MONT LOISIR should have won his last start over this C&D as he shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
IGUGULETHU stayed on when fourth over 1200m last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will be suited to 1400m. If getting away to a clean start, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
HOODIA was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m. His first two career outings were encouraging. The son of Ideal World should love the rise to 1400m and from his good draw of four, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
PORTO ZANTE lost a length leaving the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Captain Of All has dropped to a competitive rating. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can cause the upset.
GO LIKE FLO finished 1.25 lengths behind WUGUG last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
WUGUG followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of three and can notch up the hat-trick.
Race 8
POMODORO’S JET was doing his best work late when fourth over 1400m last time. The son of Pomodoro is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but Craig Zackey knows him well and he will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
BLACKBERRY MALT ran on strongly when second over this C&D last time. The son of Ideal World meets similar company this afternoon and he can go one better.
GAINSFORD was running on when third over 2000m on this course last time. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 9
CAPTAIN ARROW has faced stronger opposition in his last two starts. He was beaten under four lengths in the Grade 1 City Of Cape Town Cape Flying Championship last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He takes on weaker this afternoon and can find a form return.
SEEKING THE ONE raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Itsrainingwilliam who has come out and won again since. He has been gelded which may have done the trick. If not in need of this outing, he should pose a threat.
AXL ran a decent race when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back
