BELLA ATTRICE has fair recent form lines to her credit. She is back against her own sex and Sadick Watson may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON did not settle in the early stages of her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when second over 1200m on the polytrack was encouraging. She drops to 1000m and the blinkers should sharpen her up.
RACE 2
ANUSCHKA’SWORLD produced a promising debut effort over 800m on this course. He was slow into stride but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of One World would have strengthened up during his time off the track. He will love the rise to 1000m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
SERENDIPITOUS ran a good race when third in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Captain Of All is a progressive type and she should pose a threat.
HIDEKI is an unraced son of Danon Platina from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
RACE 3
SUN SPECTACULAR is having her first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. She was slow into stride over 1400m last time and finished off her race well. It must be noted that Wugug has come out and won again since. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and in this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
JET BUND stayed on when second over this C&D last time. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
RUN FOR ME raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Destiny’s Angel. The son of Master Of My Fate will enjoy the rise to the mile and he can finish in the placings.
RACE 4
DUMISANI was slow into stride over 2000m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish third. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 2400m. If getting away to a clean start, she should get into a good position on the back straight. Denis Schwarz knows her well and she can shed her maiden tag.
IMHOTEP stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has cracked a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
BELLE’S FIRST WAVE stayed on at the finish over 2000m last time but found one too good in the form of Mo Flow. The 5yo gelding should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 5
HEATHCLIFF finished 2.85 lengths behind BOURNEMOUTH last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry- ripe. Richard Fourie has opted to ride the son of Canford Cliffs and he may be the one to side with.
BOURNEMOUTH won a good race in the Non-Black Type Lakeside Handicap last time. He tries the 2700m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be competitive.
PEACE IN OUR WORLD was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1800m on this course. He finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate start. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 6
AND WE DANCED ran a fair race when third in the Non-Black Type Lady’s Bracelet last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She has won three times, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She is the class horse in the race and can notch up her ninth-career victory.
ROSE OF BAYEUX was unlucky in her last start as she had no luck in the closing stages. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and with luck in running, she can show.
UNITED EXPRESS is a winner of her last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She takes a rise in class but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should give a good account of herself.
RACE 7
COLD TRUTH’S last two starts have been fair. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The daughter of What A Winter takes on weaker company this afternoon. Denis Schwarz is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
SYMBOL OF LOVE ran on well when second over 1200m on this course last time. The drop to 1000m is no concern as she has won once and finished third twice from six starts over the trip. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
JADE’S CABERNEIGH has finished third in her last two starts over further. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. In this field, she should earn another cheque.
RACE 8
MR BODACIOUS was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.
FERRANDO finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
RUSSIAN EMPIRE rallied late when third over 1600m last time. Both his career victories have come over this distance. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.
