She gets the services of experienced work rider Samuel Mosia and in this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
BOSSY BOOTS stayed on when third over this C&D last time. She is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders. She is carded to race on 08 February 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
JUMPING ANALIA finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. She is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. She is carded to race on 08 February 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 2
KISSING MACHINE is one of the better bets on today’s card. She raced from a handy position over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Frances Ethel. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and she should take a power of beating.
DONNA MO has decent recent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair at the wire.
PLAY WITH FIRE was caught late when second in her last start over 1700m on the Vaal Classic course. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 3
OFFICER IN COMMAND’S last four starts have been good. He stayed on when third over 1800m last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of four and can shed his maiden tag.
ROSSORE FINALE was disappointing in his last start over this distance. He has been gelded since that run which may have been what he needed. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME stayed on when third over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, he should feature.
Race 4
KADIZORA was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1700m on the Vaal Classic course. Her penultimate run when second over 1600m catches the eye. The daughter of Querari should have no stamina issues and should see out the 2600m. She has plenty of scope and should give the males a run for their money.
AGAMEMNON returns from a lengthy 54-week break and is having his first run for the Tony Peter yard. He is the stable elect with jockey Calvin Habib in the saddle. If not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
TAXHAVEN cost himself winning last time as he hung outwards in the final 300m. Ryan Munger retains the ride and if keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.
Race 5
PLAYER took the lead at the 200m mark last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Twin Turbo. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. The 5yo gelding takes a drop-in class and can go one better.
VIVA BRAZIL stayed on well when second over 2000m on this course last time. He takes a drop-in class and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GLOBAL IMPACT produced a decent comeback run over this distance on the Standside course. He has won twice from four starts on this course. He will strip much fitter and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili, he should have a say.
Race 6
ALABAMA ANNA ran on from last when third in her last start over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. She takes a drop-in class and jumps from a good draw of three. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should notch up her fifth-career victory.
DUENNA won a good race in her last start over this distance. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off her back and she should pose a threat. JUST
BE NICE produced two fair efforts before given a 14-week break. She takes a drop-in class and if not in need of this outing, she should give a good account of herself.
Race 7
MAIN DEFENDER was super-impressive when winning the Grade 3 Betway Got The Greenlight Stakes last time. He showed good guts and determination to hold Barbaresco at bay. The son of Pathfork should have no issues with the drop to 1200m. He is the class horse in the race and should take a power of beating.
MELECH won a good race in his last start over 1600m on the Standside course. He won his only attempt over this distance. He is at his best over further, but will be doing his best work at the finish and can place.
EYE OF THE PROPHET was disqualified in the Grade 2 Allied Steelrode – Onamission Charity Mile last time. He returns from a 16-week break. The 4yo gelding may be in need of this outing but can finish in the placings.
Race 8
LINKIN NAVIGATOR has produced two good second place finishes since winning his maiden over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. The son of Danon Platina is having his peak run today and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
VAR PARK has won his last two starts well. Despite stumbling when leaving the start last time, he produced a strong finish. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew and can notch up the hat-trick.
DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN finished 4.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
