Race 1
RUN TO RIO may not have seen out the mile in his last start at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. His two previous efforts over this C&D were decent. Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and if putting his best foot forward, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
LASHLAROO’S last start can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The drop back to 1200m should suit him well and he can go close.
CANNATONIC should have finished closer in his stable debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville as he had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He will strip much fitter and cannot be ignored.
Race 2
THE SHEPHERD ran a good race when third over 1200m last time. He raced from just off the pace and fought hard all the way to the line. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The son of Captain Of All tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra furlong, he should shed his maiden tag.
FIRE TONIC did not settle in the early stages of his last start over this C&D, but stayed on at the finish. It is encouraging that Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and if switching off early, he should pose a threat.
HELSINKI should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If keeping on a straight line, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 3
SKYTRIX won a good race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. She does take on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.
JAZZ DIVA stayed on when third over this distance on the Polytrack last time. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. From her handy draw of five, she should pose a threat.
ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY finished 0.2 lengths behind GELSOMINA last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 4
MASTER JOSH was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He finished 0.3 lengths behind WYLIE RILEY last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Pomodoro can follow up.
SUNDANCE KID finished 0.4 lengths behind WYLIE RILEY last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. With luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.
WYLIE RILEY kept finding to win his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is suited to this course and merits healthy respect.
Race 5
LAZY GUY was not disgraced when third against stronger company over this distance on the polytrack last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. He drops back in class and Sean Veale may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
INTREPID has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He continues to drop in the ratings and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba, he should go close.
HAPPY WANDERER was a shock winner in his last start over this C&D. He received an 11-pound penalty for that victory. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be competitive.
Race 6
DONQUERARI challenged strongly in this class over 1000m last time, but was touched off at the finish. The manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that the 1200m should suit him. Chase Maujean steps back into the saddle and if all goes according to plan, he can notch up his fourth career victory.
THISISWHATITMEANS followed up his maiden win with a good victory over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He returns from a well-deserved 15-week break. He does take another rise in class, but has ability and can notch up the hat-trick.
THE GLIDING FISH was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and must be included in all bets.
Race 7
FORESHORE ran on from last when second in the Non-Black Type Beach Beauty Mile last time. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and she should take a power of beating.
TWINKLELITTLESTAR was running on when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should be the one to fill the exacta spot.
ICE SUNSATION has decent recent form lines to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
Race 8
NELSON BAY was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m on this course. The manner in which he quickened away from the opposition was eye-catching. The son of Rafeef should have no issues with the rise to the mile and he can follow up.
PRAGMATIST ran a fair race over this distance on the Polytrack last time. The 13-week break would have done him the world of good. He takes a slight-drop in class and with luck in running, he can feature.
RODRIGUEZ is better than his last start on the Polytrack. His best form has been under Chase Maujean and from a good draw of three, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
This is a competitive Merit Rated 66 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SKY CAFE from the Wendy Whitehead stable. She was running on when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. She will strip much fitter. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
WAR EMPRESS finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
HEREINAFTER finished 0.55 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should be involved in the fight to the finish
