Previous Race (2024 British GP)

Two weeks ago, we were treated to an enthralling race that saw three drivers go head-to-head to try and win the GP. After a number of pitstops and tyre changes due to the changing weather Lando Norris lead the race with 20 laps to go. McLaren had a slow pitstop and so he let the lead slip as Lewis Hamilton went into first and Max Verstappen into second. The race ended in that order with Hamilton winning his first race since 2021 to the delight of his home crowd.

Hungarian GP 2023

At last year’s GP, Verstappen won a comfortable victory ahead of Lando Norris who finished in second, 33 seconds behind him. Sergio Perez managed to climb up from 9th after qualifying to finish third while Lewis Hamilton, who started first, finished fourth. Verstappen yet again managed to grab the fastest lap of the race.

VERDICT

Formula 1 fans have been treated to some exciting races recently with Verstappen not managing to run away with the race on recent occasions. Does this mean the other teams have found what they need to catch up to Red Bull or has Verstappen just hit a slump of form and will return to his dominance shortly?

I think most fans would like to think the other teams are starting to catch up and so some more exciting racing can be looked forward to this weekend.

Lewis Hamilton is coming off the back of an impressive win where he used all of his experience to nurture his tyres and so not to allow Verstappen to catch up come the end of the race. He qualified in pole position at last year’s Hungarian GP and so if he can produce a similar result this year and use his moment from his last race, he has a good shout of producing yet another successful performance.

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton, podium finish at 1.90.

Lando has continued his hot run of form and surely it is a matter of time before he gets his second win. He has finished in the top 2 in 5 of his last 8 races with one result being a DNF after fighting for the lead of the race. He finished third at the British GP after a poor last pitstop but McLaren will look to fix those mistakes and not let that happen again as they chase yet another win.

Suggested Bet: Lando Norris, win at 4.50
