The Champions League group stages are hurtling along and we take a look at 3 of the games taking place on Tuesday and suggest a bet in each.
FC COPENHAGEN v MANCHESTER CITY[D1] – Click here to bet
Copenhagen are currently bottom of Group G with 1 point from 3 matches and they face Manchester City who are top of the group with a 100% record.
Copenhagen were hammered 5-0 by Manchester City on the road last week, prior to that they drew 0-0 at home to Sevilla and they had lost 3-0 on the road to Dortmund.
Manchester City’s only away game in their campaign to date was against Sevilla where they won 4-0 in the opening round of matches. I am expecting Copenhagen to take a defensive approach to this game to try and keep the score line respectable and for that reason am betting that we get 3 goals or less in the match.
Suggested Bet: Under 3.5 goals at 9/10
AC MILAN v CHELSEA - Click here to bet
AC Milan currently sit 3rd in Group E with Chelsea 2nd ahead of them on goal difference. Both sides trail Salzburg at the top of the table by 1 point in what is proving to be a competitive group.
AC Milan lost 3-0 away to Chelsea last week, but their only home game this season was a 3-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb. Chelsea’s only away match was a 1-0 loss to that same opposition back in Round 1.
Both sides went well in their domestic League on the weekend with AC Milan beating Juventus 2-0 at home and Chelsea seeing off Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
This isn’t going to be an easy game for Chelsea although I note that the bookmakers have priced them as 14/10 favourites with AC Milan 2/1 and the draw at 12/5. I don’t think there is going to be much between these sides and the draw is where I am heading.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 12/5
PSG v BENFICA – Click here to bet
These sides sit 2nd and 1st in Group H with Benfica trailing PSG on goals scored, but they have an identical goal difference. These sides played to a 1-1 draw at Benfica last week and all 3 of PSG’s games to date have seen both teams find the back of the net and their only home game was a 2-1 win over Juventus. Benfica’s only game on the road this season was also a 2-1 win over Juventus. Both of these sides won their domestic matches over the weekend.
While PSG are worthy 5/10 favourites at home, Benfica have been the surprise of the Tournament for me so far and I think they can push their more fancied hosts in this one. I am backing PSG to get the win, but only by a goal.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, PSG (-1), the draw at 29/10
