SATURDAY

MANCHESTER UNITED v SOUTHAMPTON

United are 6th on the table after a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Burnley earlier in the week that ended a run of two successive victories and they have lost only 1 of their last 10 matches in the League.

Looking at Manchester United’s home form they have played 11, won 6, drawn 1 and lost 4 and matches at Old Trafford this season have averaged 3 goals each with under 2.5 goal backers collecting profits in 6 of their 11 games.

Southampton are 10th on the table after a stunning 3-2 victory at Tottenham earlier in the week. They have won 3 of 12 matches on the road with 3 draws and 6 losses and Southampton games have been high scoring for their travels averaging 3.4 goals each with 10 of the 12 matches reaching the 3 goal market. Both teams have found the back of the net in Southampton’s last 7 League games, 5 of which have seen 4 goals or more scored in total.

These sides drew 1-1 at Southampton earlier in the season and Manchester United won this fixture 9-0 last season.

Manchester United 6/10

Draw 3/1

Southampton 4/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 13/8

I am basing this mainly on recent Southampton matches which have been free flowing with both teams scoring.

SUNDAY

TOTTENHAM v WOLVES

Tottenham are currently 7th on the table and have suffered back-to-back defeats at home to Southampton and away at Chelsea. They sit just 1 position and 2 points above Wolves who also suffered a defeat earlier in the week, 1-0 at home to Arsenal. That broke a run of 5 successive matches without defeat and 3 victories in a row.

Tottenham have won 7 and drawn 1 of their 11 home matches and Wolves have won 6 and drawn 2 of their away games which gives them a 6th best away record in the League. While Tottenham home games averaged 2.8 goals each Wolves away matches averaged just 1.7 goals this season with only 2 of the 11 matches delivering you profits had you backed over 2.5 goals.

Tottenham beat Wolves 1-0 on the road earlier this season and the last 3 head-to-head’s between the teams have had 2 goals or less in them.

Tottenham 4/6

Draw 26/10

Wolves 9/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Wolves (+0.5) goals at 12/10

For this bet to arrive we need Wolves to either win the game or avoid defeat and given Spurs recent form I think there is every chance of that. I was looking at going under 2.5 goals, but the 7/10 is just a bit short money for me.

LEICESTER v WEST HAM

Leicester are currently 12th on the table and have only won 1 of their last 5 matches. They lost 2-0 away to Liverpool in midweek and their previous home game was a 1-1 draw with Brighton. Overall they have won 5 and drawn 2 of their 11 home matches, those games have averaged 3.2 goals each with a fairly even split for over and under 2.5 goal backers.

West Ham are 4th on the table and got a much needed 1-0 home win over Watford earlier in the week to break a run of 2 successive losses. They have won 6 and drawn 2 of 12 away matches to sit 4th in the League were it just to be run on away games and there has been an even split of over and under 2.5 goals in West Ham away matches.

Leicester 7/4

Draw 95/40

West Ham 29/20

Suggested Bet: Result and both teams to score, West Ham and Yes at 28/10

I like West Ham’s chances on the road going against Leicester, but looking at head-to-head form between the sides, 6 of the last 7 games have seen both teams find the net so I am going to throw that in which affectedly doubles the West Ham price.
