BettingDiaryThere are two English Premier League fixtures taking place on Thursday night and we suggest a bet on each of them.

LIVERPOOL v LEICESTER

Liverpool are currently 2nd on the log with just 2 defeats in 22 matches this season. They were in FA Cup action on the weekend where had few problems in seeing off Cardiff 3-1 at home and their last 2 League games have been victories, 3-1 away at Palace and 3-0 at home to Brentford. That Brentford win broke a run of 3 successive games without a victory.

Anfield is very much a fortress for Liverpool and they have yet to taste defeat in 10 starts this season with 7 wins and 3 draws and they have scored 25 goals to their opponents 6 with 70% of the Liverpool home games delivering profits for those backing over 2.5 goals.

Leicester are 10th on the table and are coming off an embarrassing 4-1 away defeat to Nottingham in the FA Cup on the weekend.

Their recent League form is dodgy with a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton last time out and prior to that they lost 3-2 at home to Tottenham. Leicester have only won 2 of 9 away matches this season drawing 3 and losing 4 and they have only taken 2 points from the last 12 they have played for on the road. Leicester away games have averaged 4 goals each the highest in the League and 8 of the 9 matches have seen over 2.5 goal backers in the pay-out queue.

Liverpool 1/4

Draw 11/2

Leicester 9/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 5/6

I was looking at Liverpool on the (-1) handicap, but see it is priced as short as 6/10. I am going to turn to the goals market as I do feel that Leicester may well trouble the Liverpool defence while at the same time I can’t see Liverpool not scoring a good few goals against a Leicester defence that has looked shaky now for some time.

I may also have a nibble at the Correct Score, 3-1 currently priced at 8/1.

WOLVES v ARSENAL

Wolves are currently 8th on the table, 2 points behind Arsenal with both sides having played 21 games.

Wolves suffered a surprise defeat in the Cup on the weekend losing 1-0 at home to Norwich, but their recent League form has been excellent with 3 successive victories most recently 2-1 away at Brentford. Their last home game was a 3-1 victory over Southampton and they have won 4 and drawn 2 of 6 home games this season. Those home matches of Wolves have been low scoring averaging just 1.6 goals each with 70% of the games netting you a profit had you been on the under 2.5 goals.

Arsenal are 6th on the table and have had a lengthy layoff given they were dumped out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round. Their most recent League match was a goalless draw at home to Burnley and away from home they have won 4 and drawn 1 of their 10 matches this season. Arsenal’s away games have had goals in them averaging 3.2 goals each with 60% of those games reaching the 3 goal mark.

Wolves did the double over Arsenal last season winning 2-1 at home and 2-1 on the road and they have only lost once to Arsenal in their last 6 League meetings.

Wolves 5/2

Draw 21/10

Arsenal 12/10

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 21/20

Wolves have been scoring quite freely and Arsenal should be able to get amongst the goals here and at 21/20 this looks value given it has arrived 5 in the last 6 meetings between the sides.
