AMAZING RUN OF LAST MINUTE WINS
In last week’s newsletter I was moaning about a couple of near misses, but these things tend to level out over time and last week I had one of my more fortunate runs in 30 odd years of betting.
The Newsletter Best Bet was overs in the Stormers v Connacht game and I was also on Bulls over 31.5 which took place at the same time. Heading into the games I wasn’t in great shape as I had lost quite a bit on the All Blacks v Australia game despite having called the over 50.5 points in my preview, another bet which arrived late.
Back to the two URC matches and the Stormers game was well into injury time when they scored the try that delivered the bet and meanwhile Morné Steyn had to kick a 79th minute penalty from out wide to land the Bulls overs which had looked home and hosed early in the second-half.
This put me nicely up for the day and I had a go at the Springboks to score over 4.5 tries, a bet which never looked good, but two late tries including one after the hooter saw me finish well up for the weekend.
The cherry on top was the 19/2 ACCA which I had posted in the Forum and it all ended on the overs in the Ospreys v Lions game. I was out that night and was under the impression the bet fell just short and it was a pleasant surprise logging on to my betting account the next morning to see the ACCA had landed. I would do well to remember this run of late victories the next time I get rolled late on in a match.

PRESSING OVERS IN CAPE TOWN
Overs took an eternity to arrive in Cape Town last week and now we move to the Cape Town Stadium which has been known to cut up. Still both of these teams play attacking rugby and the weather looks great – I am sticking with my Stormers v Edinburgh preview pick and will bet that we get at least 48 points.
I sense this line may move to 49.5 before kick off (it was 45.5 when we did the show last night)
