BettingDiaryThere is one remaining 3rd Round FA Cup match to be decided and it takes place on Monday night at Old Trafford. We take a look at the match between Manchester United and Aston Villa from a betting angle.

This all English Premier League clash brings the curtain down on the FA Cup 3rd Round and with no replays this year we are sure to get a result on the night.

Manchester United have a proud FA Cup pedigree and they have won the Tournament 12 times just one behind Arsenal who won 13.

Last season they were drawn against all English Premier League opposition in their first 3 matches, all of which they have won at home before going down to Leicester City the eventual Cup winners. United are battling for consistency in the League and there has been criticism of the new management team after a 1-0 home defeat to Wolves last time out. Prior to that they did beat Burnley 3-1 at home.

Aston Villa are another club with a proud FA Cup record having won 7 times, but you have to go back to the 1956/1957 season for their last victory. They were runners-up in the 2014/2015 season and also featured in the Football League Cup last season where they finished runners-up. Last season Aston Villa went out in the 3rd Round losing at home to Liverpool. Villa currently sit 13th in the English Premier League, 9 points behind Manchester United in 2nd and their recent form has been poor as they have lost 2-1 on the road to Brentford and 3-1 at home to Chelsea.

Manchester United 15/20

Draw 28/10

Aston Villa 73/20

Suggested Bet: Manchester United win at 15/20

It goes without saying both of these clubs would love an extended FA Cup run, but my money is on Manchester United here at what I consider a decent price. Yes, their last performance was poor, but they have been inconsistent all season and have often followed a poor performance with a good one. They also play against an Aston Villa side that has looked out of sorts in their last couple of matches and with home ground advantage, Manchester United should be too strong and continue on to the 4th Round with Villa exiting for the second time in a row at their opening hurdle.

Other popular betting markets include Over and Under 2.5 goals where Over 2.5 goals is trading at 8/10 and if you think that Manchester United are going to run away with the game, how about the 19/10 that they win by more than a goal.

The Correct Score Market is always popular and I fancy a bit of Manchester United 2-0 at 27/4 and then of course we have the First Goal Scorer Market where predictably Ronaldo is the favourite at 34/10, but I fancy a nibble on Marcus Rashford at 13/2. It should be a cracking Monday night match and return to the Blog for previews of the midweek English Premier League.
