NRL ROUND 11 – THURSDAY & FRIDAY MATCHES

Surprising trip-ups for the Roosters and Eels as we head into Round 11 looking for a big weekend on the betting front.

PARRAMATTA EELS vs WEST TIGERS – Thu 23 July @ 11:50, Bankwest Sydney

The Story thus far

Having been pushed off the top spot Parramatta will be keen to bounce right back but are tasked with having to do this against a Tigers team who is fresh off punishing the Broncos. At seventh on the ladder the Tigers are certainly not a team to take lightly.

Verdict

There will be some questions asked in the Eels think-tank as to why they have more often than not struggled to get out of the gate with much momentum and efficiency. This past weekend a strong late comeback didn’t prove enough and against a dangerous Tigers side the home team will have to hit their straps from the get-go. I expected the Eels to come out all guns blazing after a week of soul searching and hard chats. The return of Mitch Moses and Blake Ferguson has me convinced.

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS vs MANLY SEA EAGLES – Fri 24 July @ 10:00, Townsville

The Story thus far

The Cowboys gave the Panthers a good fight on Sunday but are a team in desperate need of some wins to start heading back in the right direction. Manly stopped their slide by taking the huge scalp of the log-leading Eels in their last outing.

Verdict

Off the back of a confidence restoring victory I expect Manly to take care of business in this clash against a Cowboys team that’s still far from the finished article and reeling off the back of losing coach Pau Green this past week. Fonua-Blake returns and will surely be ready to break down the door after spending two weeks in the naughty corner!

Fancy a weekend English Premier League treble at enhanced odds off 7.00?

BRISBANE BRONCOS vs MELBOURNE STORM – Fri 24 July @ 11:55, Suncorp Brisbane

The Story thus far

With only one victory since the restart of the comp and having suffered humiliating defeats to the Roosters as well as the Tigers last week things don’t get any easier for the Broncos in 2020 as they have to line up against the in-from Storm in a Friday night encounter at Suncorp.

Verdict

It was a triumphant return for Cam Munster in Round 10 and Brisbane can forget about receiving any mercy from the Melbourne side. The one team is a bunch of individuals thrown together whilst the other operates technically and methodically as a well-oiled machine. Deciding whether the considerable handicap should be taken on is a tough one though.

BETOLIMP BEST BETS (in order of preference)

  1. Half Time / Full Time – Eels / Eels @ 1.61

  2. Sea Eagles -2.5 @ 1.81

Additional Plays

Eels vs Tigers: Tigers points under (look to get on-board something under the 12.5 mark)

Cowboys vs Sea Eagles: Sea Eagles -14.5 @ 3.95

Broncos vs Storm: Broncos tries points under (I don’t see the Broncos adding more than one try)

Tryscorers

Eels vs Tigers

I want the dangerous Gutherson in what I expect to be a strong game from the Eels. Sivo on the wing has already got nine tries to his name so why not add one early here.

Cowboys vs Sea Eagles

What better way to celebrate your return than with a nice meat pie.

Broncos vs Storm

Fresh off two visits behind the chalk big prop Nelson is clearly in a hungry mood. If things really blow out for Brisbane on the night then Addo-Carr could be licking his lips for a try fest.
