BettingDiaryFormula 1 is back this weekend and the action takes place at the Circuit Paul Ricard for the running of the French Grand Prix. We take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks ago ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton with Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell finishing 4th.

Leclerc closes the gaps at the top of the standings to 38 points, but Verstappen is still a short 2/7 favourite to win the Drivers Championship with Leclerc on offer at 3/1.

2021

Max Verstappen overtook Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of last year’s French Grand Prix to claim the victory and Sergio Perez finished in 3rd. Hamilton had been looking for his 3rd successive French Grand Prix win and Verstappen grabbed his first.

SELECTIONS:

Charles Leclerc win at 17/10

Leclerc’s Ferrari seemed to have the edge on speed over Verstappen’s Red Bull in Austria and I see no reason why the pattern cannot continue this weekend.

World Sports Betting are running a special this week where you get your stake back if your driver doesn’t finish the race and this is certainly nice insurance to have in the event of mechanical problems.

Top 6 Finish, Mick Schumacher at 4/1

Schumacher has been showing promising form in recent weeks and has finished 8th and 6th in Britain and Austria respectively and if he can hold that line of form he looks a cracking play at 4/1 to finish inside the Top 6 this week.
