BettingDiarySri Lanka and South Africa meet in the third and deciding ODI in Colombo on Tuesday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

The 3 match series is set up perfectly after South Africa won the 2nd ODI by 67 runs in a match that was reduced to 47 overs due to weather. Sri Lanka had previously taken the series lead scoring 300 for 9 when batting first in the 1st ODI before restricting South Africa to 286 for 6 in their 50 overs.

South Africa’s victory in the 2nd ODI was built on a century from Janneman Malan who scored a 121 runs at a strike rate of just under 90. He was ably supported by the rest of the top order with Beuran Hendricks getting 51 at a strike rate of 94 and Klaasen coming in at 5 made a quick fire 43 at a strike rate of 159. Sri Lanka used 7 bowlers and Karunaratne and De Silva were the most economical.

Sri Lanka got their chase off to a terrible start and were 3 down with only 19 on the board. A brave 77 from Charith Asalanka at a strike rate of 111 gave them some hope as did a quick fire 36 from Karunaratne at a strike rate of 156 down the order. Early wickets proved costly though and they fell well short of the chase.

South Africa would have been particularly pleased with the form of Rabada with 2 for 16 in 6 overs and Shamsi continues to deliver on the International stage with 5 for 49 off just under 8 overs.

3rd ODI BETTING – Click here to bet

Sri Lanka 5/4

South Africa 4/6

Suggested Bet: Top Home Batsman, Fernando at 7/2

Fernando was out cheaply in the 2nd ODI, but he looked in cracking form in the opening match scoring 118 at more than a run a ball.

Suggested Bet: Shamsi over 1.5 wickets at 9/10

Shamsi is almost always economical, but of late he has been taking plenty of wickets and I am backing him to get at least 2 in the 3rd ODI.
