MANCHESTER CITY v SPORTING LISBON
Manchester City travelled to Sporting in the 1st leg and ended up thumping them 5-0 to all but guarantee themselves a spot in the quarter-finals. City are now at home with a 100% record in the group stages, scoring 12 goals and conceding just 5.
They are coming off the big Manchester Derby at home to United where they were too strong for their opponents winning 4-1 on the weekend and their only defeat in all competitions so far in 2022 was on the 19th February at home to Tottenham where they went down 3-2.
Sporting won 1 and lost 2 of their away matches in the group stages and they warmed up for this game with a 2-0 victory over Arauca in the League on the weekend.

This might look like a strange bet given that City won the 1st leg 5-0 and have been in rampant form, but I suspect they are going to sit on their lead here and try and get through to the quarter-finals with a minimum effort as possible. I don’t believe that Sporting have the fire power to trouble City so hopefully we can get a run for our money here at what looks a good price.
REAL MADRID v PSG
This is certainly the clash of this week’s fixtures and Real Madrid will be looking to overturn a 1-0 away loss to PSG in the 1st leg. Looking at their away form in the Championship League group stages they beat Sheriff Tiraspol and Shakhtar Donetsk by 3 and 5 goals respectively and also beat Inter 1-0 for a 100% home record.
Real Madrid have won their last 3 League games including beating Real Sociedad 4-1 at home on the weekend.
PSG failed to win any of their away matches in the Champions League group stages and they lost to Manchester City and drew to RB Leipzig and Club Brugge. They have also been battling a bit in the League losing 2 of their last 3, both games on the road away at Nice and Nantes.

If I look at these sides recent form I just think that Real Madrid are a team on the up while PSG are showing signs of not being at their best. I think Madrid are the value paly here at 15/10 for the win and although we had a low scoring 1st leg encounter I am also considering a play of Over 3.5 goals at 16/10.
