No:2 Atticus Finch gets our vote. An excellent win last time out when returning from a long break. Alec Laird's runner was given a 4 point hike for that course and distance victory and although the runner up on that day Tizona gets a 1kg pull in the weights for a 1.25l beating the chances are there is still some blue sky in the merit rating of our selection. No 9 Kotinos could be the main danger at long odds but we will banker Atticus and look for results later legs.
Leg 2, Race 5
There is an odds on favourite here in the shape of No 1 Kwazzi's Lady (also trained by Alec Laird) who is bidding for a fourth straight win. It doesn't look overly competitive but given the fav has been rising in the ratings we are also including 3 Last Cheer, 5 Three Strands and 7 Queen Bomi.
Leg 3, Race 6
A competitive looking Pinnacle over 1000m with 8 runners (barring and scratchings). Mercantour has class and is as game as they come whilst the filly Flowerbomb has a light mass. The argument probably doesn't stop there though and we are going all of 6 runners in our perm (1,2,4,5,7,8).
Leg 4 Race 7
All of 11 runners are carded to go to p0st in a competitive 1100m handicap. Six of the field were trading in single figures at the time of writing and it could pay to go as wide as possible and hope for a dividend boosting result.
