England

England have won both their matches so far with plenty of daylight. On Wednesday they had far too much for Bangladesh, restricting them to 124/9 (Mills 3/27) and chasing down the target in 14.1 overs with Man off the Match Jason Roy top scoring with 66 in an 8 wicket win.

England started their tournament with a 6 wicket win over West Indies. They bowled WI out for just 55 in 14.2 overs. Moeen Ali and Tymal Mills both returned figures of 2/17 from their 4 overs and Adil Rashid cleaned up the WI tail with 4 wickets in just 14 deliveries. Although England lost 4 wickets in their reply Jos Buttler was 24 not out when the game ended in 8.2 overs.

Following the two victories England's odds to win the tournament are now 11/4, second favourites behind Pakistan who were 5/2 at the time of writing.

Australia

Australia took on Sri Lanka on Thursday and they also chalked up a second win of the tournament, coming out on top by a 7 wicket margin. Zampa returned Man of the Match figures of 2/12 in his 4 overs and Starc and Cummins also struck twice as Sri Lanka were restricted to 154/6. David Warner and Finch put on 70 for the first wicket and Warner went on to top score with 65 off 42 balls as Australia overhauled the target in 17 overs.

In their opening match Australia beat South Africa by 5 wickets. They restricted the Proteas to just 118/9 with Hazlewood's figures of 2/19 from his 4 overs earning the Man of the Match award. The Australian run chase was laboured and they eventually got home with just 2 balls to spare. Steve Smith's 35 was the top score.

Australian are priced at around 5/1 to win the tournament.

The Verdict

England haven't had to work hard for their 2 wins and whilst the same can be said of their opponents to some degree I can see Australia being very competitive here.

I like the look of Adam Zampa to take over 1.5 wickets given his display at this venue earlier in the week. For additional interest Steve Smith gets my vote to top score for Australia

Bets: Adam Zampa wickets over 1.5 ? (yes) 1.75/1

Top Australian bat Steve Smith at 4/1
